  1. Non-shrinking ESN rubbers

What I would do is cut them rather liberally so that about 2mm are overhanging, many pro players are doing that too. That way you have a little more leeway if the rubber shrinks a little. I think the shrinking is built in into the tensor technology because as the name says there is...
  2. Any rubber cutting tricks for scissors?

I use normal cheap curved nail scissors. Important thing is to put the curve facing outward and then cut along the wood
  3. People who switched from carbon back to wood, how’s it going?

Can you recommend a cheap ish (maybe sanwei, yinhe or so) that is about all to all+ (all wood) blade for me? I'm also fealing my yinhe v14 is a bit fast for me at this point.
  4. Baby oil plus booster?

I wouldn't do both. Baby oil and booster are both oils that are essentially do the same but the real booster is more efficient because it evaporates more easily. If you put on both oils the baby oil will compete with the booster for soaking in meaning less actual booster will soak into the rubber.
  5. Any club in or near Hohenfels, Germany?

This club is about 15-20 minutes by car from hohenfels. There is a contact email and telephone, maybe you call in there https://www.mytischtennis.de/clicktt/ByTTV/21-22/verein/208058/SG-Schmidmuehlen/funktionaere/
  6. WTT Star Contender Doha 2022

Nobody cares about chess. An elo rating might be more objective but it leads to the chinese hiding their players, just training all year and then killing the euros at the worlds. The new system forces the Chinese to play more tournaments (similar to tennis world ranking) and give the others a...
  7. WTT Star Contender Doha 2022

Obviously the world ranking doesn't reflect true strength especially with the women. There probably would be 30 chinese in the women top50 but they are not sent to international tournaments to collect points.

  10. Change of tactics as one ages

    Play like he zhiwen:).
  11. Glue drying time

Dry time also depends on humidity and room temperature, at more humid and cold conditions it can sometimes take 30-40 minutes until it gets clear
  12. 729 Made in Germany Rubber

Is that a hybrid with tacky rubber and tensor sponge?
  13. Academic style TT education

I like the project but we have to see practical use over time. I do think china players might have a technical advantage and better coaching but they also have a huge talent pool of players and almost unlimited training time, an 18yo top chinese player probably has practiced many 1000 hours more...
  14. Difference of sealers?

Modern glues are water based since the oil (voc) based glues have been banned. I can't confirm that but players are reporting that bats get heavier after several glueings because they soak water from the glue
  15. The Goat

If ma long would use butterfly there would have been a Ma long racket from butterfly:)
  16. Yinhe blade equivalents

Ma lin YEO is the same price as the yinhe though so really no reason to buy pro 5w:)

  18. Why is trampoline effect better than catapult effect?

Yeah I guess catapult sounds more dynamic and more like a weapon or gun implying the ball shoots out like a cannon which might be better for marketing than a child toy like a trampoline :)
  19. Barefoot shoes

I think barefoot shoes can be great for running and if you want to just play a bit of ping pong in a relaxed way it is ok, but if you want to play competitively and use strong side steps and lateral jumps it might not be great as those shoes don't offer much lateral stability as they are made...
  20. Topspin or flat hit?

Yeah I would say it is a loop kill. A totally flat kill with power only works if the ball is high enough because that is the only way you can smash the ball without a curve. Using the intercept theorems a ball hit at your own baseline has to be at least 32cm (double net height) high to smash it...
