If you are able to comfortably do it, it's a good serve. A good serve can be disguised (isn't the same spin all the time), kept low, varied placement. Most importantly, a good serve doesn't play against your game, but instead makes your game better.
Right, this would definitely help the spectating. But it would also be a fortune to require this many cameras for a sport that they don't know if people will truly ever want to spectate on a big scale. And these camera's wouldn't fix the problem they've created by creating the plastic 40+ ball.
Yea.... Sorry about that first one for sure, glad you argued with it. when I type on my phone sometimes I do short responses that can be taken in a variety of ways. Then I realize this and have to correct what I mean and it's a pain on my thumbs. Had to move to my laptop because I've been a bit...
I don't think using the same rubber on both sides will cure any EJ's, I've used the same rubber on both sides for most of my table tennis career but was still experimenting with new blades and rubbers the whole time. It was more "maybe softer would be better." then i'd try a softer rubber, then...
boosted hurricane is a different story, but then I would say I can't recommend a player trying to learn technique boosting their rubber all the time. It just makes the learning process harder if every 2 weeks or so your rubber is playing completely differently. Boosted hurricane is quite a bit...
Rewording in a quick manner that the other similar threads have been successful with.
An all wood blade is great for learning because of the vibration. The vibration gives you direct feedback to whether or not you're doing a stroke correctly.
You'll be rewarded with a good feeling when you...
I couldn't recommend h3 players trying to learn, it's slower but it's harder than rocks.
What helps improvement the most is the feeling you get when making good contact. Hurricane rubbers numb all the good feedback your black is trying to give you.

I don't think this applies to players who use drastically different rubbers on both sides like you though ilia. Your brain can disassociate each of your two wings since they're so different. It's similar to having pips on one side and not developing the same kinds of strokes in each side.
Response to 2).: Do you like the weight of your blade being heavy on your backhand too? having a heavy forehand makes the whole paddle heavy.
Response to 1).: Have you tried using the same rubber on both sides and seeing if it worked out? You've explained what you like about each on the side...
I'm actually back to T05 on both sides for a bit until June 6th, thats when I have a my next tournament and I'm not going to be flopping around with equipment the weeks right before it.
I like your point of:
"I am wondering if (for example) people who use a slower and more spin-resistant...
just edited twice on the post I made above., first edit is when it started being blue, second is where the red statement is made and then it goes to blue.
This is all speculation about what you think is going to happen with the rule change. You say none of the rule changes have been good over the last 20 years. I think making service need to be more visible was a fantastic change. Even if it's not enforced perfectly all the time, the ball is...
I think at higher levels, the same rubber would be better. Recently I decided, "okay, I've got good feeling and I've got a lot of my strokes down, time to go back to tenergy instead of this softer slow stuff I use for feeling and improving." I decided t05 on both sides because I'm a firm...
@lethalforehand
You said the change they're making is going to ruin what's been good so far. How is this going to ruin things?
I see this as them fixing the mistake they made in changing the ball size again. Rather than slowing the ball down making service easier to read and attack, this time...
Do you see all sports as having this issue or just table tennis?
Here's my actual opinion on the rule change and how it will effect the game.
I don't see a problem with a higher net. With how slow the ball has become, service has gotten quite a bit easier to read. I think this is a big...
Okay lets give a reason for ITTF's update on the net height then.
Modern rubbers are faster than in the past and it's tough to imagine a world where we are using the rubbers of today with the 38mm ball. The game would be so rediculously spinny and fast that it would have fallen off the map...
That is correct. Do you disagree? the poly ball has been out for how long? I want to say 2 years ago was when the rule change happened. Do you see less penholders now because of it, or did the penholders you played with 2 years ago all stop playing? At the top level the only penholder to drop...
