  1. Croatian player loses his sh#t

I'm curious too. what makes his quality of chop not as good as the quality of loop? Quality of a shot isn't just how low or spinny the ball is. It has to do with placement and VARIATION in the spin. I see the chopper doing better placement and more variation with his spin. So I'd like to know...
  2. Want hurricane 3 national

They sell hundreds of these rubbers to players. The rubbers may be real but they aren't what the chinese team are actually using. Remember what Carl said, if the pro's can't get the rubber than what would make it so that we could?
  3. Croatian player loses his sh#t

I found where I switched sides. I knew I disagreed with ttfrenzy when he said this: Then Izra had the rational response of this: But i thought it was ttFrenzy's response, not izra. And knowing I disagreed frenzy's side got me confused =[
  4. Croatian player loses his sh#t

I think I switched which side of the debate I was on a couple times :)
  5. Junk Rubber Synergy

I too have never seen a penholder playing exclusively with lp or anti. If anyone has a video please post, I'm curious.
  6. Croatian player loses his sh#t

What are we describing as effort? physical energy exerted? because when I use more effort I don't use more physical energy, I just focus harder.
  7. Croatian player loses his sh#t

Interesting, I think I disagree. If we're taking away brain and heart, and then have two players play (of equal level but different styles), you couldn't see a player putting more effort in winning a game but worse technique winning the game? The two players have reached the same level but one...

    done, read my edit.
  9. Want hurricane 3 national

ODDS are your friends hurricane national isn't real. But if he believes it's real he will have more faith in the rubber and will naturally play better with it. Ask your friend where he got the rubber and try and get yourself the same rubber. Even if you believe it isn't real you already know...
  10. Croatian player loses his sh#t

You say twiddlers aren't ultimately much different but what I was considering with twiddlers are people like seemiller. Where they twiddle to set up their shot, without the twiddling and his grip he would no doubt be a great player still. But he would also lost a lot of what his game is about...
  11. Croatian player loses his sh#t

@NL I really like this post, lots of information here, I too, respect the "junk rubber" play style as it's something that must be learned just like any other style. Let's take twiddlers out of the equation for a moment. If your opponent wasn't able to twiddle would you still feel a strong...
  12. Hurricane 3 Provincial Blue Sponge

And don't get me wrong Illia, you're definitely right that coaching needs to be done on a consistent basis, You can't just go a few times and expect to improve a lot. But I also haven't met too many players that boost and haven't tried out quite a bit of equipment as well. Sure there's...
  13. Hurricane 3 Provincial Blue Sponge

You're comparing the change of the wood of your blade to booster... The effect of boosting is not only an immediate change when you apply it, it really only has significant effect for 2 weeks. If changing equipment doesn't effect you and you can play 99% as well with any decent inverted setup...
  14. Hurricane 3 Provincial Blue Sponge

So what makes a difference is consistent coaching? But not consistent equipment? Not sure how what kind of booster you're using but I can get 2-3 hours of coaching for 20$ if I were to do group lessons.
  15. Hurricane 3 Provincial Blue Sponge

I think 0.1 hours would justify the trade off of boosting for coaching for us mortals. Having a rubber that is constantly changing it's playing characteristics can't be helpful. Just like EJing isn't good for your form, having to feel a different amount of boost every two weeks can't be either.
  16. Croatian player loses his sh#t

Interesting, I guess I haven't played anyone over 2000 with it but I can consistently beat the local 1900's that rely on it. Actually a player locally here, named Jeff Johnson (or maybe Johnston) is the one who told me to always attack the junk side. He's won the hardbat US Open a couple...
  17. Croatian player loses his sh#t

I saw that part of the topic changed to players that use "inferior playing surfaces" or "junk rubbers". These are my favorite players to play against. Not only do I know the ball isn't coming at me THAT fast, so i have more time to get in place. I also know to always attack that side. The...
  18. Hurricane 3 Provincial Blue Sponge

My coach goes to china every year to visit family and whatnot. She goes back to her old playing grounds as she was on a provincial team. Every year she gets a "provincial version" of hurricane rubber. she says it costs more but she also doesn't see a difference in it vs the regular hurricane...
  19. Momentum In Game Discussion

There's actually a high level player at one of our clubs who, once he realizes he's likely to lose will "throw the game". But he does it in a different way than you'd think. He doesn't stop hitting the table but rather gives the ball to their sweet spot and with not much spin. This prepares him...
  20. Momentum In Game Discussion

My example was partly personal experiences, but I made the thread as a general momentum discussion. Discussing the pro's is just as nice to hear as what A lowly 1700USATT player should do. :)
