  1. How important is the fh flip/flick?

Agreed to all of the above. One more argument to learn a good FH flick is if you play doubles a lot and are a FH dominant player, otherwise you are forced to receive all with BH or push it, too few variation/surprise in that so the opponents can guess and adjust easily :)
  2. Best all wood blade?

I think you and I can easily talk about this topic over 4 hours and a bunch of drinks haha nice to see the enthusiasm there, I'm the same, and for sure a taste, fun in the differences! Ah yes that makes a lot of sense, I would have expected the same indeed, and Falcima was also on my list to...
  3. [Equipment Guide] Best First Intermediate Table Tennis Rubbers in 2026: A Comprehensive List & Analysis

Clear, read your review also and some others and by now, I think I need to try it again and this time properly. I wonder, would it work on BH as a substitute of my 09c? I used to have H3 37 and liked it very much too, now trying 09c for long to compare and decide in some months. Maybe also mix...
  4. Best all wood blade?

This is a great piece of content and what I find interesting is that you mention that for hard tacky rubbers you prefer koto/spruce rather than limba/ayous. What's nice about this is that you are more of the FZD school and if you look at Wang Chuqin / Ma long then that's more my school and why I...
  5. Best all wood blade?

For me: - Beginners: stiga allround classic or yasaka sweden classic - Intermediates: Nittaku violin, Korbel and Acoustic - Advanced: Long 3 Not on my favorites but blades I have tried with a nice feeling too: Xiom Solo, Primorac, Tibhar Stratus, Cybershape wood.
  6. [Equipment Guide] Best First Intermediate Table Tennis Rubbers in 2026: A Comprehensive List & Analysis

100% agree, my feeling is that it's perfectly fine for an intermediate, can do it all good with its own philosophy. Yes agreed!! I have added the factive in my beginner article, and rozena more for intermediates. Rozena has the spring sponge and that added bounce can be hard to handle as a...
  7. Why are dignics09C considered not suitable for beginners/intermediate players ?

Fully agree to this, this is exactly my own experience and preference too :)
  8. [Equipment Guide] Best First Intermediate Table Tennis Rubbers in 2026: A Comprehensive List & Analysis

I think it's always good to try things and broaden your perspective @Doppelschlag :) I like a good hard tacky rubber on my forehand so i can hit through and hear the loud metalic crack of a H3 boosted, there is no better feeling than that for me on FH, and very few people can put those balls...
  9. [Equipment Guide] Best First Intermediate Table Tennis Rubbers in 2026: A Comprehensive List & Analysis

I will add the improvements tomorrow thanks!! I'll take your word for the nuzn 45 :D
  10. [Equipment Guide] Best First Intermediate Table Tennis Rubbers in 2026: A Comprehensive List & Analysis

I know plenty of people (and some pros in the past, not sure now) that use the dignics 09c on forehand, so that can for sure work. It's just a different vibe than H3 and Vega China. From my personal H3 experience, I just don't like the really high throw angle of 09c on forehand and I have a...
  11. [Equipment Guide] Best First Intermediate Table Tennis Rubbers in 2026: A Comprehensive List & Analysis

I'm so sorry I totally missed this comment before @oophyte !! So, I had not tried the previous versions of BD before, only the new one on the racket of my friend the other day, he is into budget stuff and I joke with him always about that, so anyways I wanted to try as many people have 'hyped'...
  12. Why amateur players should avoid fast gear and where power really comes from in table tennis.

Ah nice!! If you go to collado one of these days, say hello to ricky and iñaki from me, great guys ❤️ Good to hear about the club! Hope it keeps going :D
  13. Why amateur players should avoid fast gear and where power really comes from in table tennis.

Agreed, together nowadays with 09c and soon to be joined by zyre 03. Thanks! Yes fully agree, as a 09c user myself, I still struggle sometimes to either activate the sponge if im very tired and my feet/body don't want to do what I want it to do OR if I block passively instead of counterloop...
  14. [DIY] The "Stradivarius": A 1300Hz Cybershape made with True Violin Woods (Maple/Spruce) & Hide Glue

As an acoustic and fellow wood enthusiast, I really enjoyed the whole post and this comment, thanks for sharing and awesome work!
  15. [Equipment Guide] Best First Intermediate Table Tennis Rubbers in 2026: A Comprehensive List & Analysis

Agreed. I wish I had the numbers and I would gladly share them with you all. But isn't the point of this discussion that nobody does? This means we, as consumers, have a harder time buying TT equipment than with other things. Brands could solve this easily but they won't because opacity sells...
  16. Why amateur players should avoid fast gear and where power really comes from in table tennis.

Btw, this is so true @Tyce , 'doe normaal man, doe je al gek genoeg! de nederlandse nuchterheid, nooit je hoofd te veel steken he haha i do love it though, we spaniards dont have that, my wife has taught me this and i enjoy it :D And yes, oldies play pips, and they love talking to you in games...
  17. Why amateur players should avoid fast gear and where power really comes from in table tennis.

Probably due to the pressure and nerves factor no? In real competitions (and also in training to get used to it), playing at 80% of power is much better than playing for winners, so I can definitely agree to this.
  18. Why amateur players should avoid fast gear and where power really comes from in table tennis.

Agreed to both paragraphs, on the first one agreed to losing to kids with fast rackets, when I was training at the borussia dusseldorf place (the andro tt schule in reality) there was an 11 year old kid, Lukas, ranked 3rd in germany under 11 (2y ago ish) and he was hitting harder than any person...
  19. Why amateur players should avoid fast gear and where power really comes from in table tennis.

Ah nice! I used to work and live in Madrid (I'm originally spanish from Zaragoza) and have some friends from Collado Mediano, great people, what's your club? :) Even Timo himself said the other time on the TTD podcast that it's pretty much the same, just different branding. These 2 things are...
  20. Why amateur players should avoid fast gear and where power really comes from in table tennis.

This is very true. I have for sure seen this in people with low condition (and no motivation or means to improve it) or health limitations. Not saying it applies to others as well but it is true this happens.
