  1. Suggestion choosing my first good TT Racket.

I reckon this is too fast, especially the blade. The thing about beginners is that there is no 'one blade' you can progress with for a long time. I think that you should get an all wood blade to start off with, such as a Tibhar Stratus Power Wood. I think the backhand rubber, Rozena, is ok, and...
  2. Best Hybrids in your estimation thus far! (Mine is Bluestar A1 for my BTY Kiso Hinoki V)

I feel like hybrid rubbers only exist to rival Dignics 09c. When people find a good one, they always go; 'is this a cheaper option to 09c?!' Because of this, if you can afford it, just go for 09c. Its durable, fast and one of the best rubbers ever.
  3. Dignics 05 or Dignics 09c on forehand?

I recommend 09c of you are willing to tweak your technique a bit. In my opinion, the arc of 09c is much easier to get home, compared to the more linear arc of 05. This is especially true when you go further back from the table. And for your power problem, 09c is only a little slower than 05, so...
  4. I find that doing sparring matches is a really good way to improve and get sharp

I agree with tony, if you're struggling with ones person's one serve, its better to work on it directly with them on that serve, then play out a game and only face that serve once in twice a game. I can also enfore his point that the combination of 1 on 1 coaching and grpup coaching is teally...
  5. I find that doing sparring matches is a really good way to improve and get sharp

Yeah serve recieve is one of the most important parts of the game, especially at the higher level. Its constantly changing with styles and tactics. For example, top players in my age group now serve long, especially to weaker players, to inprove thier chance of a really strong third ball...
  6. Changing rubbers to change technique.

Yeah, youre right, in the end it is me who allows these lazy shots. And it is me who has to change the way i play to no longer include these shots in my game. I just hope 09c helps me perform the proper technique better. Yeah my coach completely changed my forehand technique around 3 months...
  7. Changing rubbers to change technique.

I feel like having an easier rubber on forehand is less important that backhand. On forehand, its such as big stroke that at the lower competitive levels, it doesn't really matter what ribber you use, its the same technique(with the exeption of 09c and Hurricane). This way you can use any...
  8. Changing rubbers to change technique.

    This is my problem
  9. Changing rubbers to change technique.

I have a good technique, i just don't use it when the ball is hit wide or when I'm playing badly. Me and my coach are trying to work on it by doing footwork drills amd trying to anticipate wide balls.
  10. Changing rubbers to change technique.

Do you think that chaquita is easier with 05? I find that all spin-ups are much easier with 09c.
  11. Sardius, Primorac carbon or Viscaria?

I reckon that you avoid these blades until you get to that level again. After 14 years, you may have changed playstyle and of course the ball change has happened. I recommend getting a a fast all wood blade such as the Korbel SK7.
  12. Changing rubbers to change technique.

I've been itching to try small pips on backhand. Just as an experiment. I don't think i will permanently switch though.
  13. Changing rubbers to change technique.

I think we both live in a similiar area of England as well😂😂. Yeah i always end up doing these half-punches, more like an agressive directional block, which works ok, but against heavy or no spin it doesn't. I think 09c will help me develop the proper stroke in game. Yeah this is what i want. I...
  14. Changing rubbers to change technique.

I already bought it😂. Yeah i know i need to work on my footwork especially around bh side. The fact that my lazy shots didn't work with 09c is just a plus, i just wanted to know if this is a viable move.
  15. Ultimate Table Tennis: India's Pro TT League.

I heard on dan's podcast that they will head over to india to check this out.
  16. Changing rubbers to change technique.

My problem is that on the backhand, especially wide backhand, i often do passive shots such as block, half-punch and chop block. This often has a negative outcome such as it doesn't go on or they hit a good shot. So my solution is to switch from dignics 05, which allows me to do these lazy...
  17. I find that doing sparring matches is a really good way to improve and get sharp

Yeah, thats why its importany to have multiple knocking partners. Sometimes i like playing against a more orthadox, spinny attacking style, while sometimes i like to play against a flatter style, both attacking and defending.
  18. I find that doing sparring matches is a really good way to improve and get sharp

Yeah having a person who you can regularly play with and practise with is really good, and helps you a lot, especially if the person is better than you. You get to learn and adjust as freely as you want as it is a non competitive game. The only downside that i can think of is the lack of...
  19. Post your latest EJ purchase

Yeah but I'll have to wait till i get back from holiday. Not expecting much from it though, just a normal chinese rubber.
  20. Post your latest EJ purchase

Upgrading from Dignics 05 to Dignics 09c on backhand. Trying out Nittaku 3 stars for the first time. 007 for good old dad.
