Glayzer is softer so it is easier to engage the sponge there. Also depends on the glue you used.

Also another problem is that some of the older rubbers were fast for their time and hence have a rating of 9/10 or greater. As faster rubbers came out, they also obtained similar ratings (on revspin for example). In other words, the speed ratings of rubbers are generally based during their time.

Blade is real. I suggest trying different glue, such as Butterfly Freechack I or II. I absolutely hate the Joola X Glue. For whatever reason, it makes the rubber feel dead and have 0 feeling. I've tried numerous bottles and all were a waste of time and money. I suspect it might be the same issue...
