  1. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

Great adjustments against SXY by Hayata there. After being successful playing high pace and "flea-like movement" SXY adjusted to it and won rallies holding the table to get ahead 2-1. Hayata started playing slower and more high arcing shots and won the next few games with SXY being too early...
  2. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

Huge coaching failure in the Gauzy / LGY match. Game 3 LGY was up 8-1 and they let Gauzy get the score to 9-8 before finally calling a timeout. I know it's only game 3 of BO7 but that feels like malpractice.
  3. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

Rough loss for Diaz. Had 5 game points againt Zeng in the 5th game and ended up losing it to go down 2-3. Huge momentum swing that she couldn't recover from. Some pretty good rallies in that one too.
  4. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

This Gauzy vs LGY match might actually be the most insane match I've ever seen. Gauzy is in full ridiculous Gauzy mode and it's beautiful to watch. HE DID IT! After so many close calls with Chinese team opponents, he beats LGY convincingly 4-1 playing as insane as possible.
  5. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

Gauzy playing some absolutely bonkers points against LGY! Almost every other point is a highlight reel. 3-1 let's see if he can finish the job.
  6. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

That last point was really crazy. Both Sabine and Wan had to hit the ground in order to make their shots. Wan had to do it twice lol. But the point right before that at 9-9 was crazy too. Sabine falling sideways and backwards because she was way out of position still found a way to make the FH...
  7. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

I'm not questioning her talent or work ethic. If anything, it's very impressive that she can play well while keeping the same posture and just floating laterally without bending her legs. But would it be too difficult to situationally learn to load the legs on slow incoming pushes and shots to...
  8. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

I've watched a few Amy Wang matches and it's pretty obvious how nonchalant she is. But something else about her playstyle was just off to me and I think I just figured out what it is. If you watch her closely, she will never drop her center of gravity. In a 7 game match, there's maybe only a...
  9. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

Man Petotska made Miwa really work hard. Girl was a brick wall blocking machine and Miwa needed like 3 or 4 quality shots to finally get it past her to win rallies. Maybe the ball really is slower than normal. Good adjustment to finally pull away but Miwa was really feeling the pressure there.
  10. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

He also switched up the tempo of the rallies to mix in some slower balls rather than just hitting at his full speed which was easy for XF to time in the first few games. Was a good adjustment and his rally win rate went way up.
  11. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

Hilarious Ionescu successfully challenges 3 out of 3 illegal serves. Noshad then argues that there's no way to serve without the ball being hidden by his head lol.
  12. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

Pink table, really uncomfortable dentist office lighting. Bizarre choice. Table 2 currently featuring an absolute dogfight between Shinozuka and Xue Fei. Great points and close games going to deuce.
  13. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

Even with the gameline at 4-1, this was an incredibly compelling and tense match between the two (save for Game 2 obviously). Miwa winning 4 close games that went to 9-9 or deuce is an amazingly encouraging quality for her mindset. It's one of those things that separate the top Chinese players...
  14. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

Even though Lind can be pretty obnoxious some of the times, I can't help but be entertained by his play style. Some fun exhibition style points in that one.
  15. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

Frazier Riley can drop some real gems sometimes. Just now he called Hayata's movement "flea-like" which is both accurate and hilarious.
  16. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

That Wan/Winter pairing is pretty interesting. Almost beat Odo/Yokoi if it weren't for some amazing plays from Yokoi in the decider. Winter is definitely carrying Wan. Not just playing better but giving her words of enccouragement along the way. With some improvement on Wan's part their short...
  17. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

Ankur Bhattacharjee. Indian talent was able to beat Sung Yang 3-1. And that's not the most incredible thing. He was sending back Yang's chops with BACKHAND loops and crazy loopkills! Never seen anything like this. You guys gotta go watch it. Qualifying Day 1 / Table 1 / Session 1
  18. Koki Niwa has been referred to prosecutors

I think he's just retired from WTT/international play. TT players are definitely underpaid, but I'm guessing he gets paid in sponsorships for representing Victas along with other brands while he competes in local events or for T.League. So in that sense he would be earning a living being Koki...
  19. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

Was able to find a Brazilian commentary version of Hugo's championship point. Historic moment in TT deserves a more exciting call then what we got with the ITTF English broadcast.
  20. Koki Niwa has been referred to prosecutors

I wouldn't feel too bad for him if he made more money off betting than he would've made in 6 months of TT earnings. Considering that only 3 to 5% of sports bettors are profitable in the long run, it's pretty safe to assume that he didn't though. Very likely he got double whammy of losing money...
