  1. Beginner Friendly Hybrid Rubber

Guy says it's slow similar to Glayzer 09c. That's a bit disappointing since I was interested in trying it on BH.
  2. [Concluded] Looking for an ‘all wood alternative’ for Viscaria

Most reviews of the Falcima seem to indicate that there is very little vibration and feedback. Is low feedback the feeling you want?
  3. Beginner Setup Advice

Food courts in Bangkok are way better imo. Singaporean cuisine to me is as attractive as Singlish (i.e. not attractive at all). Guess it's down to personal taste.
  4. Nittaku acoustic blade - any good?

Acoustic was not good at blocking for me since it was too thin (5.6mm) and flexy. Didn't feel like it had a backbone to it. I'd look for something slightly thicker and more stable for blocking.
  5. Speed Upgrade on FastArc G-1

Listed retail price is 9800 JPY so this seems to fall out of your price range.
  6. WRM TV visits Korea Highlights 2024

Gucchy is the real MVP of Japanese TT Youtube. Incredibly prolific with hundreds of videos over the past decade and seems like a super friendly guy. Honorable mention goes to Takkyu Geinin for being hilarious
  7. Why did China not field Wang Manyu after she saved them against India?

Didn't realize WMY came from such humble roots. Chinese media don't seem to do a good job of conveying stories of their players for international audiences. If WMY was in Japan, there would be several human interest segments about her on TV Tokyo and fans would all know her dad's name.
  8. Stuor Harimoto ZLC

My Stuor Harimoto may be more crispy than yours as my Sanwei 75 Inner feels softer and catchier than the Harimoto. My coach felt the same way trying it. My Stuor is great and I enjoyed using it. But I like the 75 Inner slightly better and I don't have to explain to people who ask why my...
  9. W968 any version?

When you say modified for players, exactly how much variation is there between different player blades? I'm guessing some prefer different weights and maybe different handles, but are there any more significant variations (for example, differences in the thickness of the plies)?
  10. W968 any version?

I think he's asking your level because your first post asks if the cheaper versions are "good enough." Whether a blade is good enough for its cost depends quite a lot on what the player is capable of.
  11. Now testing: Battle Max, Rxton 3 Pink, Dynaryz ZGX, and Rhyzen ZGX

I've just boosted the Loki Rxton 3 Blue. Before doing it I measured the topsheet/sponge and it came out to around 52/52 degrees. After one layer of Seamoon, and about 4 hours later, the sponge now measures 48 to 49d, while the topsheet remains unchanged at 52d. So the boosting softened up the...
  12. Everything about WCQ

Maybe I could get on board with 'many' top players using it. But saying 'every' top player does it is just objectively untrue. Also, which other Chinese players are you referring to? Let's be specific. WCQ rightly gets singled out because how egregious his ball hiding is and how he does it in...
  13. JTTA: Selection System to be Revamped for Paris 2024

Don't know if this was already discussed in this thread but Mizutani made a pretty good point about why Ito wouldn't be an ideal reserve player for the Olympics in this video: Basically, he said that one of the main duties of the reserve player, since there's a very little chance historically...
  14. Mizutani Jun plays VR TT against top ranked players

This is the ending of a series of videos by TV Tokyo where they have some personalities play ElevenVR. In the end, they bring on a player with a #7 WR in the game to challenge Mizutani. The whole thing is very entertaining and fun to watch.
  15. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

Gauzy visited TTD, saw our disparaging comments about his chances, and then came out guns blazing.
  16. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

Yeah he kept up the pressure and quality of play to try to close it out. FZD just found an extra gear and unleashed a few perfect shots to the corner to take that game away.
  17. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

That was a very impressive performance by Alexis despite the loss. From bringing back game 1 down 4-8, and then still fighting hard despite being down 2-9 in the 5th (the last point being a missed serve), he showed poise and maturity. FZD looked just ridiculously strong today, especially in...
  18. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

FZD ice cold facing match point making some insane shots and taking the game. This match is delivering from both sides
  19. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

Coaching instruction is super audible during these time outs. Anyone know what was said from the CNT coach?
  20. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

Nice game 1 from Alexis bringing it back from 4-8. Lot of moments there for him to get frustrated (like missing some putaway shots he set up) but he kept his cool. Edit: Also good to see him grinning a bit after losing an amazing rally
