  1. Loki Rubbers

Did you use the R1 Plus boosted or unboosted? What were your impressions of it?
  2. Loki Rubbers

I've setup a Loki Rxton 1 Plus on my BH on one of my Fextras but haven't gotten a chance to try it yet. Will try to post about it in this thread when I get a good impression. If you are okay with reading translated subtitles, there are some Japanese channels that have reviewed Rxton for BH and...
  3. Alexis Lebrun Asics shoes

You can check here to see if TT-Japan will ship to Chile. Shipping might cost more, but TT-Japan's prices are low to begin with https://tt-japan.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=5478 EUR 46 is around 29.5 Japanese size. I'm not sure they make sizes that big for that model.
  4. Loki Super zlc

👆 I've never felt any desire to buy blades named after somebody....until now
  5. Bounce with the Ball / Split-Step

I've had two training sessions where I've focused on the recovery step/bounce and I've found it really helps with my FH/BH transitions. Here are some clips where I've made a quality shot after a switch. Prior to this, I've not been able to make these sorts of shots. And here's one where a...
  6. Sanwei Fextra 7

The Vita Pro appears to be very similar to DHS Hurricane Long 3. It even has the red inner wood layer similar to Long 3. I would expect it to be faster than the Fextra if the speed is same as Long 3. And the Fextra should be slightly slower than the Parla.
  7. Looking for best value for money cheap thin 7 ply blade.

Fextra 7 may be the best value blade out there. It also is one of the thinnest 7 ply blades at 6.0mm. Another good candidate would be Yinhe U-2 at around $30. Also 6.0mm. It is slightly different with Koto outer. Apparently has a bigger sweet spot than Fextra but more hollow feel. DHS PG7...
  8. Loki Super zlc

This has been buggin me for a while... Does the name "Arthur" have any significance in table tennis? Is Loki paying homage to some guy, or did they just pick a random Western name for their higher end product line?
  9. Why are there so few blade archetypes?

Woah, why the heck are blades so cheap there. That can't be legit can it?
  10. Bounce with the Ball / Split-Step

Here is another great video about the recovery step from a Chinese coach Some really good nuggets of information in this one: 1. Students are taught at first to recover to neutral position for every stroke. This seems fundamental for all coaching styles, but this coach believes it must be a...
  11. Looking for recommendations

The YSE will be slower than your blade. Even if it is a premade, your blade is 5 layers of wood + 2 layers of carbon. I can't think of carbon blade that is slower than a YSE except for specially designed carbon defender blades. Yours is intended for offense. Consider an OFF- rated blade. There...
  12. Advice for new Nittaku blade

You might want to look into the Nittaku S-5. This chart might be useful for identifying Nittaku blades to your liking, but I wouldn't rely on it being too accurate.
  13. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2023

The second game between Togami and Lin Shidong might be one of the most intense I've watched all year. Every other point is a highlight reel rally.
  14. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2023

Huge upset with Xu Yingbin taking down Harimoto 3-1. This Xu guy was almost flawless in Game 4. Took the fight right out of Harimoto.
  15. Don't blame the rubber if you don't get enough spin.

I agree with the conclusion (the title of the thread). We've all seen people play TT and achieve some spin with clipboards and other random objects. What I don't understand how brokenball's formula actually gets us to the conclusion. He seems to be arguing that any object made of any material...
  16. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2023

Looks like Ojio Haruna is playing live now. Going to be rough as Man Kuai has beaten her many times before. Edit: Looks like she's got a bit of a problem of nerves. Up 10-7 in 1st and 9-7 in 2nd and lost both games. If she can fix her mental and close out games, she can go a lot further. I...
  17. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2023

I don't mind this turning into an Ojio Haruna appreciation thread, since the point of these Star Contender series is to highlight up and coming young talent. I ended up watching a few more of her matches yesterday and noticed some inconsistency missing a lot of smashes when she switches to...
  18. Koki Niwa Wood or Tibhar Force Pro Black edition

The bounce test only measures bounce at a certain ball speed. This might take into account only the rubber's interaction with the top layer. And there might not be enough force to activate the carbon layers. So it may be slower on low impact shots but much faster on harder impact shots...
  19. Don't blame the rubber if you don't get enough spin.

Since @brokenball refuses to answer my questions after politely asking 3 or 4 times (he seems to be more interested in calling people stupid rather than actual table tennis conversation), maybe the rest of you can help me with this question. @brokenball says: How does brushing the ball at 30...
  20. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2023

Looks like she beat Soczs, Zhang, and Suwatthabut very recently. And she beat Xian Tianyi last year. What level are you referring to, because there's only one female chopper I know who is capable of beating the above names and that's top 10 ranked Ying Han.
