  1. Anybody know the exact ESN hardness for DHS 38-41?

You can buy a Shore A or Shore O. Shore A is more similar to DHS scale and Shore O is ESN scale. I bought the Shore O because probably it likely has fidelity (range of use going to be 40 to 55 instead of just 29 to 40 or so). The measuring pin of the Shore O durometer is also better suited to...
  2. Anybody know the exact ESN hardness for DHS 38-41?

Give me 3 to 5 weeks and I'll let you know what I find out after I've played around with the durometer. I'll test the topsheet and sponge combo. And I have some cut-up bits from old rubber saved so maybe I'll try separating the two and see what they measure at individually. I think you're...
  3. Anybody know the exact ESN hardness for DHS 38-41?

You know what. I think I'll go ahead and buy a durometer too. It's only $15 off of aliexpress or $24 on Amazon (the one that says "X. F" on the dial). It's a small price to pay to satiate curiosity.
  4. Tibhar Hybrid MK review

Shore A durometer registers 30.5 degrees (42-43d) so your subjective assessment was more accurate than the manufacturer rating. See below: Pretty bizarre people would consider a 42d rubber "too hard."
  5. Broken/Cracked Timo Boll Spirit. Any Advice?

Yinhe Pro 01 is supposed to be a nice Viscaria alternative. Lot of positive reviews about its build and play quality. Only 1.3m VND on Aliexpress.
  6. Loki Rubbers

Uses an entirely different sponge. Red sheet has a pink sponge and black sheet has a blue sponge. The top edges of it are cut to save costs too, so maybe it costs a bit more to manufacture. The topsheet is the same LARC number as regular Rxton I, but I imagine it might be a different top sheet...
  7. Moon Speed 53 just came out on Aliexpress

How experienced of a player are you and how do you play your BH? The rubber is not very bouncy and can be slow if you're used to tensor rubber. This is ideal for me since there's enough dwell and grip for me to develop my BH topspin and loops. It can also be good for experienced players who can...
  8. Anybody know the exact ESN hardness for DHS 38-41?

I don't know tbh. You'd have to ask someone that has played C1 and H3 for a comparison. I'm inclined to think that C1 is nowhere near as hard as its rating because these guys' durometer tests have been reliable in my experience.
  9. Anybody know the exact ESN hardness for DHS 38-41?

I think the issue there lies with the manufacturer ratings and not the scale itself. I dont trust manufacturer ratings very much, and ESN are particularly wildly off. My Fastarc C-1 was supposed to be 45d but turns out it's more like 39d in durometer tests. These guys used a durometer test of...
  10. Moon Speed 53 just came out on Aliexpress

  11. Are Butterfly shoes worth the high price?

I think TT-Japan will ship to Vietnam. The biggest size they have is Japan 28.5 which is around a 10.5 is US sizing. Edit: Didn't realize OP needed a much larger size. Keeping this up hopefully someone finds it useful.
  12. new equipment for 2022/23

The ST handle is a bit thicker and better for normal to bigger sized hands. I can't play with my Acoustic FL because it's too thin and I didn't like the grip tape solution. But the ST handle of the So-Ten felt good in my hands when I held it.
  13. new equipment for 2022/23

Yeah you're right about the outer plies. I saw these in person at the TT Kokusai store in Tokyo. They had dozens of them. Retail price for both is 19800 yen or $144 USD. They were having a yearly sale with 30% off retail so the price ended up being $115. I was tempted to buy a So-ten. Great...
  14. Musing on slow/mid-fast equipment[Stiga ARClassic, OSP V-), technique, development, etc [self-videos included]

That's an interesting take which is almost the opposite of what I usually hear which I'm summarizing below: With carbon blades and bouncy rubbers it's much easier to hit a winner by just reaching while out of position due to the bigger sweet spot and easy speed/spin generation with just arm and...
  15. Loki Rubbers

Tried Loki Rxton 1 Plus for about an hour yesterday and for a couple hours today. This is an amazing rubber for my backhand. At 39d, the sponge is a lot harder than what I'm used to, so to soften it up a bit and speed up the breaking in period, I used one very thin layer of Seamoon. Very light...
  16. Bounce with the Ball / Split-Step

Yeah I've been doing this in my push training to form the habit after discussing it with you. This was at the end of my training session and I was being a bit lazy. The half step helps a lot in setting up positioning for the FH loop against backspin.
  17. Best way to clean rubbers?

I just wash mine in the sink with some hand soap and water. It's still just a sponge after all.
  18. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2023

Was really pulling for Jang. One of the best displays of footwork I've seen in a long time. Jang was teleporting to balls he had no business even getting a racket on. Also, that random cheering section he had made the whole atmosphere a lot more enjoyable.
  19. Rubber Bumps on playside after glueing and unremovable glue!

DHS No 15 glue is so easy to remove that I don't think I'm ever going to use anything else. It's so easy to remove, in fact, that I winded up keeping the old glue on my the rubber before gluing it onto a different blade, since it looked so even. Is there anything downside to doing this? How...
