  1. Butterfly Zyre 03

Its not a forehand or backhand thing. The dwell time on Zyre is relatively short compared to Dignics and takes some adjusting to. Some pros have not made the change successfully, LYJ reversed it, Diaz reversed it. So it is very much a personal choice whether one wants to make the change or...

His opponent didn"t use AI. That was a huge difference.

Kaufmann is full time in 2025. She said so on her TTD interview.
  4. WTT Champions Frankfurt 2025 - 4-9 NOV 2025

Kaufmann is going to be tbe best player in Europe. The question is when. In fact if the expert had said he considered Kaufmann better than Winter, I would not have seriously argued. But it still leaves one spot open for Mittelham or Winter.
  5. Butterfly Zyre 03

So you are arguing that spin shots engage the topsheet and sponge more and that can make them faster? Even with all things equal?

Ah, at least you showed the evidence of the 09c, now please show the black side. The fact that he was a Dignics 05 user on both sides (if his profile history is correct) and then he goes Zyre03 and D00c is a bit of a red flag. But in the end, he probably needed his opening flick and pushes to...

Supreme French talent vs Supreme Korean talent. Who will reign Supreme?

Bernie loses to Sofia. More interesting novel, same ending.

His Butterfly profile says Zyre on both sides. He probably didn't care.
  11. Butterfly Zyre 03

Most people are thinking about the ratio of spin to forward speed and not absolute spin when they talk about spin. But for whatever reason, those slow spinny shots are less effective these days. Timo's interview had enabled me to get over it lol. Okay, back to Zyre03. I have to play a bit...
  12. Butterfly Zyre 03

I am not disagreeing with you on that, a lot of table tennis physics isn't physics. That said, the heaviest spin often comes on shots that most of us would not call spinny. Hugo showed this in the recent pongfinity video for anyone who is interested and doesn't watch pros who use spinsight.
  13. Butterfly Zyre 03

He is arguing for the post bounce kick. That is a real phenomenon. I don't think it gets him what he is arguing, but it is a real phenomenon.
  14. Butterfly Zyre 03

I don't think any of these things are relevant to the previous discussion but thanks for sharing. And for practical table tennis, if any of these things made a difference in speed at the top level, more pros would be using all wood. The closest is Hugo in that at least, he doesn't use carbon...

He wrote a lot of stuff I didn't think was relevant but my interpretation of what he wrote probably differed from yours.

Which was a pleasant surprise after the default last week. Had better enjoy Aruna as long as I can, there is no talent lined up behind him when he retires.
  17. Butterfly Zyre 03

All things being equal, yes, but not all things are equal in table tennis and that is what @merlin el mago is pointing out. You cannot flat hit a low ball (below net height)l onto the table with speed. You can topspin a low ball onto the table with speed. You can put more energy into the...

Yangzi Liu plays maybe 60% of her level. Lee really knew what to do. Is t it amazing that Dima has been a pro longer than Andre has been alive?
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Whacked my thumb on the table trying to pick up a half long ball. I blame the lighting where I played lol. I have to get it checked out this morning. Didn't want to deal with all the ER expenses. A bit surprised that this is the first time i have ever had an issue picking up half long balls...

Harimoto shows Lily that playing backhand is not enough. Hiroto proves that Japan has targeted LYJ but cannot reap the rewards of the profiling. Bruna shows she is solidly top 20 beating a rusty top 20 player who just returned from maternity leave. Jang hates playing Hugo. It's obvious.
