Sora has surpassed Uda. Do Tieba users agree?

It's one of the reasons why the easiest way you can tell if someone can spin the ball heavy is by looking at their service action. Very few players learn to get good spin on serves and then throw all that away when looping. Though there are some who manage to get good spin with fast loop...
  3. WTT Feeder Manchester-2025

Yeah the absence of world ranking restrictions with the lead up to the Olympics was the biggest thing.

Karlsson takes out both Alamianz in a row. Still waiting on the Sora-Hechen match. Chitale reminds us that pips are not magic.
  5. The Surest Way to Get Rid of Illegal Serve Complaints

2014 was the time when the balls were really bad though. I am sure they can make better balls now if they really want to. Won't solve the problem with the experience playing but it will be better durability for sure.

@PenHoldSandro , I think i told the story of when I was trying to learn to loop better on my forehand and my coach told me to limit the upper arm movement (which often involves making the stroke feel smaller and bending the elbow a bit more) and I didn't do it. It's one of my current regrets...
  7. Why not add more lines on the ball?

To be honest the limits of human information are not always known and I won't be surprised if top players pick up cues that make the extra information cool. But maybe not... but for helping amateurs, it doesn't work through way they imagine it will. Other than in the case of no spin...
  8. Why not add more lines on the ball?

Which ultimately amount to the same thing - the size of the ball, the speed of the ball and the small distances the ball usually travels over make such marks invisible on all but balls that slow down enough to float.
  9. Why not add more lines on the ball?

It will mostly help with slow float. At a certain speed, lines become invisible. Since slow float serves are my favorite weapon, I am not a fan lol.

What players at your level of experience consider power is too difficult to produce consistently against balls with decent quality. What you want first is reproducible and good technique that you can master with repetition and control against many different kinds of balls. Then you can produce...
  11. Need help receiving a particular serve

I started as an adult too and I completely disagree with tbja approach. There are no shortcuts. If you can read spin and have fast hands, you can do just about anything you want to a serve. If you can't read spin, no shortcuts will save you. It's always best to just take your strokes, find a...
  12. The Surest Way to Get Rid of Illegal Serve Complaints

You are going to need high speed cameras to make this work.

Sometimes, you have to not know things to do things. But he is 70 in addition to any other issues. So I mostly feed him the ball unless he moves me around too much.

It's funny that Falck is playing qualifiers. It's amazing to see Lilian Bardet beaten so comprehensively in qualifiers.
  15. Zhang Jike: "Those who rely primarily on a Backhand system, can not reach the top"

Did you ever hear the story that Wang Hao was supposed to play the first match in the 2010 WTTTC final but didn't? In any case i don't find the distinction in performance you are arguing for statistically significant though you are right that Ma Long did play them more in the later stages of...
  16. Zhang Jike: "Those who rely primarily on a Backhand system, can not reach the top"

Can you cite the statistics you are using to argue that WH had a better head-2-head vs Boll/Samsonov than Ma Long? I'm not disputing Wang Hao's play by the way. I am just arguing that he was more backhand oriented than most players at his time and that he had tremendous success playing that...
  17. Zhang Jike: "Those who rely primarily on a Backhand system, can not reach the top"

Oh, you are so full of it. You mean that everyone here doesn't know who Zhang Jike is? Or you mean the reason why we are discussing his statements is because we don't know who he is? No one who disagreed with hin said that the forehand focused table tennis is not athletic. The points that...
  18. Zhang Jike: "Those who rely primarily on a Backhand system, can not reach the top"

Haha of course no one said that. They just felt that way and supported their arguments with Xu Xin and Joo Se Hyuk (examples that didn't work at all).
  19. Zhang Jike: "Those who rely primarily on a Backhand system, can not reach the top"

So this sounds more like what I was saying. More nuance. It is just funny how some think you are only allowed to agree with everything a good player says lol. LSD comments start about 3.5mins in.
