You can watch and decide whether the announcement enhances or takes away from the event:
  2. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

I think the goal was to bring a different vibe to the Smash events to give them an enhanced aesthetic. Probably not for everyone but not adding more ceremony to your bigger events begs the question of what makes them bigger...
  3. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

It's an American thing according to wiser people than myself - you just need to find out who the Americans WTT are consulting and they will fix it. As to whether sports dim lights or not, it varies, the Bulls did a lot of light dimming for their introductions. Baseball is an outdoor sport so...
  4. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

I wonder what FZD is up to nowadays. Nah, ZJK blades would still be on the market if ZJK hadn't had some scandals. FZD blades will still be advertised and sold by FZD until well after he really stops playing and that will be a few years since he will still be in Superleague and play in...
  5. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Not quite the same but the old ball made things easier sometimes lol...
  6. Backhand technique

It really doesn't matter, all that matters is how they make their swing (using their arm and body) and contact with the ball based on the incoming ball spin and the shot they want to play. How closed or open or tilted etc. the racket looks can change based on so many things that it is IMHO not...
  7. How do I improve my backhand? (closed)

It's a bit of a waste of time to ask for advice on your technique on the internet without posting video, or more alternatively, spending money on an online service like TTD and then asking the online coaches there for advice. No one can see what you are doing and can tailor their advice to you...
  8. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Lin Shidong sounds like he is much older than he actually is lol.
  9. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

You started this ridiculous idea that I was confusing objectivity with having a measure and now you are not explaining how you get objectivity without a measure saying that it has to be the right measure. Do better.
  10. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Thanks. Hopefully someone learned something from that.
  11. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Is it me or are the fans against Lin Shidong and Kuai Man for some reason?
  12. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

You can't prove something is objective without having a measure everyone can agree on. So having a measure is a prereq to objectivity. You have made your point i have made mine. MLTT and Tennis have clocks for a reason. ItTF can continue to leave this to people would may have axes to grind...
  13. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

I suspect someone made the following pitch to Liang - Ma Long and Fan Zhendong are retired now. Why not you?
  14. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Liang has been serving so well... getting a lot of pushes of half long serves...
  15. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Do you mean at only junior level? I know what you mean but this isn't quite true At senior level Other countries have moved to systems where national team coaches interact with and train the players altogether at least periodically for majot events. In fact, Nathaniel Molin became head coach...
  16. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Seems this worked all over again with some crowd help and minor adjustments.
  17. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Without a serve clock, this is all not objective. The rules say to play at the pace of the server. 15 seconds is not stalling.
  18. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

It is believed (i heard it during a commentary) to have been started by China in order to avoid favoritism and was embraced by other national teams. Works logically when you have a single head coach with ties to one or more players stronger than others. But it was never something formally...

His point is not that you can't win consistently, his point os that if you do and you coat the house a lot of money. They will simply ban you from betting there again or find some way to limit you. They encourage people who lose money to bet and find ways to ban the people who cost them money...
