Huh? France is probably the #2 team and is higher seeded in the team WR because of the recent WTTTC silver in Busan and Felix's ranking. Sweden is the outlier but are the European champs and also Karlsson and Truls are severely underrated because of recent subpar performances for different reasons.

If It had someone other than Felix or Fan Zhendong on the other side, I would give Shinozuka a chance. But the reason why I thought Japan had no chance was that Felix would win 2. So let's go!

I don't think the issue is the low percentage stuff as much as the speed making the opponent have to do less to put him under pressure. If he could use variation to sometimes slow down the game and throw off the timing of the opponent, better things would happen.

Togami played Alexis Lebrun in July I believe (or late June) and missed all those lobs. So clearly he did his homework. Which means there may be hope for him.

Togami was on his way to saying I adapted.... then Alexis showed up... Togami still falling in love with his power and needs to keep enough quality spin to control the point without letting Alexis in. I don't envy Togami if this goes to 2-2.
