  1. Paris Olympic Games 2024

If you want to watch TT at the Olympics in the USA, you will need an app of some sort unless a VPN works for another country that provides streaming access to all the tables. The coverage is by camera to time slots from the world feed. Since there are often many matches being played...
  2. Paris Olympic Games 2024

They have trade relationships with China. That's sufficient for TT.
  3. Who will win the Paris Olympics?! | TTDCast #1

I know this podcast episode is cool but we do have an Olympica thread that will be competing with this one now...

The problem with coaching is that it usually hurts the way you compete if get too used to feeding balls. But these are things I have already accepted and done before. I was lucky to work with two very good and comprehensive coaches and I think when you struggle and learn as an adult, it is...

I actually dp something different now. I brace my core the way lifters do, sucking in air to fill on my lower abdomen and stiffen my spine to make it resistant to movements. I also try to do the McGill big 3 and other things like suitcase carries to improve core stability. Back issues are...

So I am back coaching again, working with a junior girl and maybe depending on availability and my job search some adult learners. For me it ia fun to coach since many people who invest time into TT get stuck because they develop misconceptions working with coaches that never deliberately...

It is a lesson for everyone to learn at every level. You can't out speed the faster athlete, you need to use quality and variation. It is good that you wanted to win enough that you listened. That is how we all learn the hard way.

I think her back issues made training and playing less enjoyable. I think if she were injury free in a way that allowed her to continue to maintain/improve, she might have stayed on. But pain makes you question everything, especially since she had achieved so much.
  10. Paris Olympic Games 2024

I think Korea is lucky not to draw Japan or any other dangerous teams, I suspect they are happy with their current draw. Gives them a path to bronze.
  11. Paris Olympic Games 2024

Just like that, the draws have ruined quite a few SI picks lol.
  12. Paris Olympic Games 2024

Korean men got effed. You have to pay me to believe that France didn't rig the draw lol to get a somewhat comfortable bronze... Japan and Chinese Taipei got great draws, one of them will be lucky and the other will be effed and complain, but they are currently close to 50-50 vs each other.
  13. Paris Olympic Games 2024

Harimoto got effed. Lebrun and Calderano have draws worthy of their seedings, though LYJ and JWJ and dangerous, but Calderano and Lebrun have good records against them and should be fine unless something changes - the other rounds will be of interest as well.

Don't get me.wrong, Korbel as far as I know uses his blade with boosted Tenergy 80 or Dignics 80 so I am not saying what I am saying is impossible. But there is a really good video by Tt11 where a Hungarian Pro Daniel Kosiba plays TT11 co-owner Sergei Petrov, who is somewhere between 2400 ‐...

Cracking the forehand isn't everything. When the ball comes back, how easy is it to borrow the incoming pace to hit another winner or to block the ball down the line for a winner? Do you have to be in perfect position? Can you reach and do it? How much power do you have to add to the ball...

Can't argue with results, I leave the pure and abstract technical arguments to the CNT fanboys.

Sounds like what you are calling high elbow is what most coaches would consider the proper elbow placement for the backhand topspin.
  18. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I must not understand what a high elbow is, I have never looked any of these guys and thought "high elbow".
