  1. Choice of all-wood offensive blade - Survey

That makes sense, and everyone's style is different. I have never been really able to understand how someone puts something like FX-S on the forehand. But usually when I see their game, it makes sense. But for my feeling it never does. Even watching Emmanje Lebesson often leaves me puzzled...

So I asked my friend and he said that his old school background from the speed glue days influenced his approach and there is some chemistry involved. He boosts two sheets at the same time using baby oil or seamoon (baby oil lasts longer but seamoon is more effective) and then puts them in a...

First of all, Fastarc C1 is a fine rubber, I used it for a long time. Secondly, I know exactly what you mean when you say that you enjoy putting more power into your strokes and that Fastarc was too fast for you. The main reason I stay away from the Mercurys and Jupiters and Big Dippers of the...
  4. Choice of all-wood offensive blade - Survey

Table tennis is a relatively cheap sport, but with price, the real issue is usually to find more money, but you are 20 years old so it makes sense. Blades are lifetime investments, so one should rarely be thinking about how expensive something you are going to use over a long period is if you...

Changed rubber yesterday (I had already decided on a blade change because of the head size of the Mazunov which made it harder for me to play with newer rubbers) and even for an Anti EJ like myself, the difference in match results was stunning. I just hope I don't get injured using really...

I will discuss with wifey lol. What state is this in again?

This is true for a lot of your training and is food for thought. What I feel about multiball and robot training is that the key is to forget about ball accuracy/consistency/power and to focus on just exercising the muscles in the right sequence slowly and to build things up over time. As a...

Yasaka Extra is still an good blade and is close enough to some of these. The one thing I will say is that the Acoustic can be the beginning of a progression to Carbon. None of the other blades offer that path.
  9. Attack of the Spambots

Every night I come to TTD, it seems the spam bots have taken over. What is causing this and is there a fix?

That's partly a taste thing, some people don't like the non-lineariry of innerforce blades and prefer to just leave that to the rubber. The most popular blades in the world are not innerforce (Viscaria and clones, Mizutani and clones), though I have to admit that Innerforce ZLCs have become...

What he means by not so much wrist is very different from what I mean by not so much wrist. In general though, his backhand is a bit overrated but not going to hate on him, he is a strong player and professional athletes are professional for a reason.
  12. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

Can you do a lunge without using your hips?

Being able to keep the ball short is easier with a tacky rubber. It is one of the reasons why the Chinese dominated because they always found it easier to keep the ball short than most of their opposition, even against side-topspin serves. It is also the reason why hybrids are becoming more...

The issues are more than that, though they mostly show up in higher level play. Regardless, if you like the rubber when you use it, that is the most important thing.

You can keep it on your backhand, there are lots of tacky tensors that are doing really well. I know a couple of people who really like Joola Golden Tango and this is going on my bat when my order comes in tomorrow.
  16. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

She definitely mentions it, she doesn't emphasize it, likely because her motion speaks for itself. Most people don't squat and lunge enough to practice high level technique but if they can it helps.
  17. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

It's a clone of the Timo Boll stroke. Timo Boll just has faster and more pronounced wrist action and he probably uses the back muscles a bit more dangerously to so. She drives hers a bit more visibly with the legs.
  18. Why is ZLC popular among the Japanese team but not Chinese?

Jun Mizutani used ZLC. That probably helped a lot. But I am fairly sure if I remember correctly that Jishan Liang uses ZLC.
  19. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

Okay I lied. Tom Lodziak posted this video today so I couldn't resist. When you know what to look for, everything makes sense,
  20. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

Last video to make the point since some people want physics/science.
