Thanks, IVegita. He knows what I mean. He wants to take offense is because someone is pointing out the emperor has no clothes. Conveniently, he is indignant about his purported ignorance.
Wasn't talking to you - was talking to other people so that they don't feel they are misreading you. You have pretended to listen to a lot of people without listening to a lot of people. That is why just about everyone seems to miss that you have accepted all the things that if you accepted...
If so that is really dumb. In reality every rubber has its own playing characteristics that are not 100% analogous across brands without systematic measurement. Using just sponge hardness rather than overall performance is ignorant.
You are 100% correct but I think he has finally realized that there are players who he will not be able to beat consistently unless he opens and counters with the backhand. The Gauzy loss was probably the last straw.
Part of the reason the draw to the forehand strategy works is that Xu Xin was always looking to play a forehand and unwilling to open with his backhand so he had to cover larger distances when given the forehand. I think the Gauzy result will be hard to replicate but we will see.
I think the interview is outdated. What Xu Xin is doing with his backhand now shows he finally understands what this plastic ball is about. The interview was more relevant for when the Chiquita still had some single shot effectiveness for point scoring with the crappy DHS balls and low bounce.
The other thing to realize is that backhand technique has changed. Xu Xin is not playing the same backhand Wang Hao did. Wang Hao like I said was a very different player.
Coaching is not the Same thing as playing. Wang Hao and Xu Xin are very different players. While this is also specularion, the fact that Chen Qi is now Xu Xin's coach and is getting through to him technically shows that we sometimes teach best what we don't/didn't really do.
Yeah, it has been obvious for a while that Sun Yingsha, to paraphrase Ian Marshall, is in the ascendancy. Ito was saying nothing special to anyone but maybe fans who wanted Ding Ning to play singles.
There are enough CNT players in the event which can beat the best JNT players even with the withdrawal of the top seeds that your analysis presupposes a lot based on seeding. Everyone still needs good luck with their specific draws to avoid CNT players in earlier rounds, including CNT players.
Lin Gaoyuan didn't play the Team Event... amazing...
FZD looks like a schoolboy despite being the defending champ - that he couldn't defend/neutralize LGY's Chiquita was a bit depressing.
