  1. What's Wrong with Harimoto's FH?

Since usualsuspect has repeatedly claimed that Ma Long has the same forehand at 14 that he does now, I tried to find video to support his case. Unfortunately most of the videos on the internet have been deleted. But I found this one. Did Ma Long had the same forehand then that he does now...
  2. What's Wrong with Harimoto's FH?

I read the post and coach Kurasame said the same that Harimoto needed to expand his attack patterns using Ma Long's example.
  3. What's Wrong with Harimoto's FH?

In other words, you don't understand the threads subject because you are unwilling to study it. Then why complain when someone says you miss the point since you are admitting to missing it?
  4. What's Wrong with Harimoto's FH?

The video in the topic was based on matches played in the middle of last year. He was WR 4/5 at the end of the year after winning the Grand Finals. He has been known for having a world class backhand even as a kid. People think of him as a backhand player and that factors into opinions on his...
  5. What's Wrong with Harimoto's FH?

The topic is the video. You asked why the topic/thread and the topic was driven by zeio's promise to translate a video. If you want to say that the topic isn't about the video, and is a general assessment of Harimoto's forehand, you can see that there isn't universal agreement in the subject...
  6. What's Wrong with Harimoto's FH?

The video from zeio is a bit old and was made in 2018. Some Chinese players/coaches believe Jun Mizutani and Timo Boll or Dima have bad forehands too so it is all opinions. The point is that if any of the aforementioned guys, and Harimoto can join them, has such a bad forehand, why so...
  7. What's Wrong with Harimoto's FH?

Again, missing the point entirely. You mean that despite having been decoded by the CNT, Harimoto was still able to beat a CNT player who had every opportunity to take advantage of his weak forehand? How on earth did this happen? I can find some video of forehand points in that match if you...
  8. 2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

Let me be clearer, I should have said gold/silver medal candidates. Harimoto and Ito were so trchnically deficient per usualsuspect that they could improve with age but lacked the time to develop solutions to the deficiencies recent games have exposed (Sun Wen, Wang Yidi). Usualsuspect of...
  9. 2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

Well, we have you on record saying that they have both been decoded sufficiently by the CNT to be ignored as 2020 medal candidates. Please remember to continually share that so that if you are right, you get the pat on the back you deserve.
  10. Which OFF/OFF+ blades are your favorite for touch play?

Almost anything in the Carbonado X45 series.
  11. 2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

He has improved some of his swings for sure.
  12. 2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

I think one way of gauging Ito's performance is to compare the ease with which Chen beat He vs how Chen battled Ito. He even ceded the match early realizing that nothing she did would work.
  13. 2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

Just saw the Harimoto vs Takuya highlights. Jim played really well and managed to bring out some of those bad forehands that Harimoto gets forced to play when he doesn't move away from the table. The final will be interesting and that is the match I would watch if I was Zhao.
  14. 2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

    His father.
  15. 2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

Looks like Marcos is also playing with his signature blade at last.
  16. 2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

Another big problem for Japan next year is Chinese Taipei. Lin Yun Ju seems to have elevated the Hope's of all the Taiwanese players and I can see them being another contender for gold in all events if LYJ plays sufficiently well. CCA and CCY are not pushovers and are a strong doubles team as well.
  17. Kasumi Ishikawa : The most beautiful table tennis player

This post is so politically incorrect - Carl, I am sure you don't plan on running for President any time soon.
  18. 2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

The plastic ball has just exposed Dima much more than ideal. The opening no longer has the extreme value it does, so his backhand opener is more devalued, his serve spin is not that devastating and the balanced rallying isn't there. All of this is level relative of course.
  19. 2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

Agreed, but he has moments when he gets it workable and moments when it is not. But when he loses to these up and comers, it reminds me that his game is just wrong. In fact to me, how he plays against them speaks more loudly than how he does against the top A-players.
  20. 2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

Dima seems to lose these Chinese up and comers. For me this is the biggest match of the year for me to believe he is fundamentally sound again.
