  1. Does Equipment Matter: Pro vs. Pro

That you have to quote igorponger as an authority on something shows the kind of intellectual crowd your opinions party with. In tennis, there is absolutely no heir apparent to John McEnroe today. No one serves and volleys consistently, just about everyone is a baseliner. In tennis, they...

To participate, yes. Not sure what all the rules and scholarships amount to. But they are in degree programs of some sort - again let's not debate without extra info the rigor etc. of the scholarship standards.

It is surprising if you have the ability to go in both directions as most people believe the down the line is too risky as it leaves open a cross court block. But if the player can step back and sit on it it is usually an easy point for the blocker. So it has to be an ability to go both ways.
  4. China National Team Closed Training - WTTTC 2018

With the weight that LJK has lost, that has the potential to change. It was too "obvious" to me that his original game was compensating for his weight. Now you can see that he is not always holding the table as aggressively to take balls EXTREMELY early - he is still taking them early, but at...

A core strategy for playing lefties is down the line attacks. So I suspect they bother lefties substantially more, even if they bother other players more.

This version of LJK is just amazing. He will start trading with FZD if he keeps this up.

My solution is to come round the side of the ball with a more open racket and close over it. There may be other options but this has been the most reliable way of countering for me. You are a much better player than I am and just about anyone here who will casually answer your question so PM...
  9. I’m qualifying for the English nationals help

Throw a discuss or swing a golf club. Advanced players reset the feet while swinging to give them more force into the ball. Some jump or hop a little on every shot. But there is no single magic way. It is just easier to start with loading one leg and finishing with the weight on the other or...
  10. I’m qualifying for the English nationals help

There is no perfect or correct way to hit the ball in TT, there are just awful ways and respectable ways and in advanced cases high level ways. You can use your legs all you like but without a real ball in some manner no one can tell you what the limitations you really face are. Even crappy...

Finally, a good looking version of Liang Jingkun. Now this guy is going to be on the men's team next time if he decides to stick around.

Carl, he needs your corner of the table video for the inside out forehand loop practice.
  13. Commonwealth Games 2018

Gao Ning was too solid. The match just confirmed my biggest fears and that Quadri will always be susceptible to balanced players whom he can't overpower with his forehand. He is better at dealing with those players now but he can't afford moments like the end of the 5th game.

It's tough for the English men. One last chance.
  19. Commonwealth Games 2018

Walker beat Gnanasekaran convincingly so he definitely has a chance. Gao Ning is usually rock solid if you don't pressure him a and I am sure Sam will.
