  1. Japan Open 2017

But ZJK didn't blame his situation and Samsonov did not blame his age. I haven't seen the LGY match yet, but LGY beat Boll yesterday so unless you know something I don't know, let us give LSS nuff respect and stop saying he used anything to beat them.
  2. Japan Open 2017

It really depends on the total level that LSS displays. ML did lose to JSE after all. LSS is going to play Mizutani and that will say a lot.
  3. Japan Open 2017

So the million dollar question is - Should LGY retire??!?!?!??! Sorry... couldn't resist after people were piling on ZJK and Samsonov for losing to LSS...
  4. How to keep a consistent forehand topspin ??

Without video, the problem is impossible to answer.
  5. Japan Open 2017

For the doubles, they should have an automatic rule that when a country is to face itself in the Semis, they should end the semis and do a group of 4 round robin for the title, best of 3, all play all, games are to 15 with two serves rule. Automatic rule only applied to situations like Japan...
  6. Japan Open 2017

Whatever the explanation, it makes absolutely no sense. It doesn't matter the explanation, everything I think of falls apart when considering Japan's current TT status and the 2020 Olympics.
  7. Japan Open 2017

China got a new enemy today, his name is Kazuhiro Yoshimura. I was a bit disappointed he could not win u21 and I am sure they will neutralize him eventually. Will fun to see such players when Mizutani is acting like his Olympic bronze completed his career.
  8. Japan Open 2017

Ranking is about participation and performance, not playing strength.
  9. Japan Open 2017

Wow, at 3-1 8-7, Kenta enters a time machine and starts playing like his 2013 version with amazing blocking!
  10. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Read the whole original post again if this is how you understand his intent.
  11. Japan Open 2017

Yes. She is proving her rating.
  12. Japan Open 2017

Agreed - a 13 year old backhand oriented player going up against a 20 year old with one of the best backhands in the CNT - not a good matchup and it was more competitive than it could have been.
  13. World Table Tennis Championships 2017

Team and doubles titles count for the requirements, so the hardest requirement is really the coaching one, as coaching a player to a championship is a commitment. Ma Lin kinda got cheated out of the opportunity with Ma Long unless they give him credit sitting in China, but Wang Hao couldn't do...
  14. Japan Open 2017

If you have ever beaten someone you always lose to when it counts, you know that is not how it works. Even the ones that didn't count, you will pretend to others that they don't count, but you know what it really meant to you. And this one counts. It is not WTTC but it counts. If it didn't...
  15. Nexy Karis rubber first impressions

What I found most interesting was that I had used (and liked) Big Dipper on the KJH but wasn't willing to commit (I don't like how tacky rubbers block when I play players I can block down without moving). KAris H kinda feels like that but I will practice a bit today. The KJH has the hardest...
  16. Japan Open 2017

Dreams, good or bad, are just dreams :D.
  17. Nexy Karis rubber first impressions

Played much better when I hit with it. I used it in 2.0mm, which is my preference when using hard sponges. It didn't have catapult so my blocks and short counters were off, but the spin was great. Will test a bit more. It's either going to be H or M+ on forehand and M+ or M on BH.
  18. Japan Open 2017

Good that you were patient enough to provide the details. Most of the U15 buys in China get their ratings/rankings when they play the World or Asian Cadet championship. As for whether their method or the Japanese method produces the better players, who knows? China is usually so far ahead in...
  19. Japan Open 2017

And if LJK too also honestly believed he won the point, and the umpire ruled for him, and they were both honestly but incompetently wrong (I don't place too much stock in how the ball comes off, it is really up to the players to agree, though I agree bouncing upwards is clear and bouncing...
  20. Japan Open 2017

The umpire couldn't see well when making a call that he was closer to than LJK was ?
