I guess it´s safe to say it is not a common problem, because if it happened more frequently the forums would be full of such stories. However not all rubbers have their thickness indicated on the sponge so sometimes such mishap might go unnoticed.

The truth is very simple. Sponge in selected hardness temporarily unavailabe in white, so yellow was used instead. (according to someone who works for Victas) It´s the same rubber after all.

Novacell. Specs indicate a range between 71 and 80. Might be worth a try, if resting and healing is no option ;-)

Tibhar Illusion Killer and Tibhar Fortino Performance. But they are not amongst those you´ll see around with 60 grams, and like I said getting one with 80 would not help much in my opinion...

My two cents: If 177 grams are a problem, 5 less wouldn´t solve it. You have a light and as you say well-balanced setup and you love it. Changing one rubber and continuing to play, hoping the pain will go away, doesn´t seem like a good idea. Rest, doctor´s advice, treatment sound better to me...

With some manufacturers, you can have two dozen competition blades plus two dozen readymades named after you and never use a single one of those. ;-)

In this generalized form I would disagree. Some might, others would rather not. Trying something different when things go wrong is another story, but you´d have to be really disappointed with yourself, maybe on a rare occasion with a bad batch of rubbers provided to you.

There are different kinds of "good", so it´s pretty much impossible to give a definite answer. It all comes down to personal preferences and capabilities. Same blade weight and same rubbers will still result in different answers from different people. And one more thing: Many people might...
