  1. Multi ball with Celluloid balls bad idea?

What he meant is that higher level players pick up on the difference between cell and plastic better, while low level players might not even notice if you don't tell them.
  2. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Honestly I am only using 729 FX both sides because I can't afford to keep replacing even a bit more expensive rubber. I used to not really understand it, but now I understand that I'm probably never gonna hit the limits of a rubber like that, with what my body is currently capable of. Right...
  3. Multi ball with Celluloid balls bad idea?

While I haven't actually extensively used plastic balls, and haven't even seen the new ones, this seems to be true. I wouldn't really know the difference between plastic and cell when I do drills because I'm already preoccupied with things such as not making bad contact, making contact in the...

It really is baffling to hear about these new rubbers after having only used up to medium-tier Chinese tacky stuff. Even with the best stuff I've got my hands on, you had to brush and focus on spin. Do these modern rubbers really do so much for you?
  5. Juniors being mistreated in local league by grumpy senior players

His girlfriend had to come out and subtly intimidate/guilt you into taking it easy with him? That's rich! At least he trained you well enough.
  6. Save the Rainforest

Yes, I suggest we produce all the bats out of plastic and other synthetic materials instead of natural and renewable material such as wood. That way the plastic manufacturers will ha- I mean, the planet will be saved.

@JeffM If you can, could you upload the uncut matches as well?
  8. Save the Rainforest

I think we got bigger problems than a relative handful of trees being chopped down to produce niche products. I don't know if it's right or not, or what effect TT equipment manufacture even has in the real world, but I'm not too sure that TT is the leading cause for deforestation in the world.

@NextLevel Your forehand really looks like it's starting to mature. I wonder when you'll hit 2200, if you haven't already. I think I found out the main reason for my back injury. I was testing out shadow swings trying to get rid of some right-side lower and upper back tension, and I found out...
  10. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Haven't played in months. Withdrawal symptoms started settling in. Luckily my partner is coming back for the Christmas, and I have time as well, so we will go and hit up the usual venue for some training. Will probably get some footage too. My back hasn't completely healed and I still get...
  11. Do you need ‘perfect’ technique to be good at table tennis?

Yes, absolutely. If you don't hit the ball with 100% perfect textbook technique with the precision of a Japanese engineered, German built machine, then you might as well quit the sport forever.
  12. My table tennis drawings :)

All from imagination, except the hand. Fairly complex perspective? No problem. A hand? Impossible. Originally this was up-side down, like a view from a rafter, but it didn't make any sense no matter how I looked at it, so I flipped it, so that's why Peco's looking at a drone or...
  13. My table tennis drawings :)

I'm going to revive this thread with a bad warmup drawing, because I'm that kind of guy. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) @YuJuYen pls post more

@NextLevel Doesn't a timeout also let your OPPONENT gather themselves for the next points?
  15. Is this blade broken?

Only if it comes back with new Tenergies on both sides. ;)
  16. Is this blade broken?

Yikes, I didn't know my blade is completely unplayable, because it's much worse than this.
  17. Serve for a lefty

I guess I should mention that you should be ready to serve anything and not just stick to a rule-book. At some point you're gonna play someone who has no definitive weakness, and it's just compromise. Of course, if one thing works, and keeps working, just keep doing it.

What if you just like playing with slow, tacky rubber and don't give a damn about performance?
  19. Usage of Finger by a memebr on MyTT Forum

Playing penhold for fun and blocking my partner's loop with TPB has taught me that finger pressure at impact REALLY matters. I think it's easier to figure out with TPB because the fingers are so involved.
