  1. Your first setup, Or where did it all go wrong?

Inspired by a recent thread I took myself the freedom to create this thread. So what happened? :) My first real racket was a premade Stiga bat > something like this http://stigatabletennis.com/en/products/flexure-5-star/ It did cost about 125$... However it wasnt even that bad, soft rubbers...
  2. Question on Biomechanics of the FH Loop

One thing about the high loops that makes you believe it has lots of spin is that the angle it comes at you is different. Because the ball comes at you in a more vertical motion you need to adjust your angle more. That's why its so hard to block a high loop ball and most people solve this...
  3. Setup for Chinese style Arc/loop...

I agree with that its high throw. Well Maybe not high but at least medium to high.
  4. Insane Bottle Trickshot by PongIsLife!

    Holy shit... thats badass!
  5. Artem Utochkin's tutorials

    Awesome! Thanks!

Just started watching it... what is the one counting doing? hahah xD
  7. Question on Biomechanics of the FH Loop

Jea i read that. wait let me search it... http://www.ittf.com/ittf_science/SSCenter/docs/199208013-%20Wu%20-%20Table%20Tennis%20Spin.pdf I was impressed by two points: - Loops drives have more spin than high loops, even though more energy is spent in hitting the ball flat. They justify it...
  8. Question on Biomechanics of the FH Loop

OH this video just reminded me of another way to make use of the body rotation in a more upward stroke! Drop your shoulder and lean a bit over your right knee and then go up while turning the torso! Very NICE! Now I need to delay my date tomorrow and go training!

That Frankfurt Rubber s gotta be dope :)
  10. Question on Biomechanics of the FH Loop

The physics work like this: If you take the ball early - off the bounce it has more energy and its rising. This means you don't need to generate that much energy by yourself and most importantly don't need that much lifting. That's why you can take it with a more horizontal motion. At least...
  11. Rubber getting wet

I don't sweat that much but its probably enough together with the humidity. And trying to brush it off with the hand is a bad idea, and I do that lots of times. Next time i will pay more attention to it and maybe even try to hold it under a hairdryer for a sec :D
  12. Rubber getting wet

This is very interesting! But also very effortful maybe. However the point about the rubber being to cold makes sense to me.
  13. Question on Biomechanics of the FH Loop

Thanks for yours answers i really appreciate it. As I see it there are different approaches on looping backspin. Xu Xin does it by avoiding the spin. Which i like very much, this flows into the same principle as the Werner Schlager one. One loop to fit them all. As XX uses sidespin in almost...
  14. Question on Biomechanics of the FH Loop

Thank you! Very good post. I just started reading the blog posts on experttabletennis when you posted :) SO the solution is to have a super loop who fits all... This will be a long therm goal! However for amateurs i think there really are two loops.
  15. Question on Biomechanics of the FH Loop

I have a question concerning the use of body rotation used in the FH Loop. How can i make proper use of turning the body while looping a backspin ball? Looping a backspin ball requires a more vertical stroke. Now this makes it hard to turn your body into it without leaning back. Because if you...

Congrats on that! Now what does Grad A and B mean? What kind of rating system do you have in Australia?

  18. Rubber getting wet

Until now i always thought that in though matches my ability to do short and spiny serves deteriorates because i get agitated. However this happened a lot even in longer training sessions. I think its because my rubber gets wet ... i can even slide the ball across the surface of my rubber...
  19. My Training Video

Nice game! But i gotta wonder... so many stop balls. Id go insane :O
