  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

It seems ICC has broken their own record in terms of making people wait .. this is the very reason a lot of people don't like to play ICC .. especially the ones from in an around the area because it takes up the whole day if you qualify from your group ... anyways ..i dropped in yesterday as...
  2. (Sergie) Scoobie Doo, WHERE are YOU ??

Scoobie doobie dooo where are you ?
  3. Time Boll & Patrick Franziska using Black side for FH

Timo is using tenergy on both sides so nothing to do with tack ... its just preference ... at timo's level , butterfly will make him whatever he wants , so his considerations are not exactly similar to ours ... even the common conspiracy theory with Hurricane black being more tacky is more to do...
  4. I'll be commentating at the World Team Championships this week!

You are doing a great job with Adam in the Chinese Taipei vs Sweden match !!! Very impressive !
  5. club players and coaching

@UpSideDownCarl : Is there a way to ignore the thread after posting once, as in stop the notifications ? Just curious ...
  6. club players and coaching

you are absolutely spot on as usual Der_Echte ... but I will tell you the other side of the story , having been a blocker for a lot of people for a lot of time, the ability to block and make a drill happen is not that common, and players simply don't pay attention when its their turn to block...
  7. club players and coaching

These days, most of the times I consider a 10 times before posting in a thread because it seems Carl has become the last bastion against the invasion of trolls on TTD ... anyways ... good that you posted videos , otherwise you would have stayed in my ignore list ... here are few things I wanted...
  8. Topspin against slow no spin ball

this is what I think when I land in this situation ..... try to grab the ball with the paddle more in your stroke , that is consciously try to increase the dwell time ... essentially you are not able put as much spin as against top spin or underspin . ... it is very rarely pure no spin , its...
  9. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

IMO you won't lose the feeling of flat hits , the feeling for spinning is much more subtle and easier to lose ... flat hit feelings remain.
  10. Developing an offensive style as a beginner

May be we can think of it in a different way , the only way to be more consistent is not necessarily stopping to loop and starting to push , you could loop the same balls differently with softer hands , smaller strokes and make it spinner and and try to make it on the table more . Somebody told...
  11. What is the difference between H3 Provincial Blue Sponge and H3 Neo Orange Sponge?

at your level ,I don't think you need to change to blue sponge, its for people whose entire game is dominated by power loops ... you have just started to loop ... it will only encourage you to fall back to your older habit of hitting everything flat ... well having watched your video , my...

  14. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Visualization + footwork exercise + correcting and drilling in the form ... I believe ... and I have seen Pros like Ariel do it just before they start drilling with the coach , I believe it helps in warming up too ...
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

What do you mean when you say "how it is " ... are you asking how to do Shadow Practice ? or how is it effective ? ... on shadow practice there are some videos made by @UpSideDownCarl , I checked his youtube channel and its not there but he has posted it multiple times in threads here, if you...
  16. Transferring conscious to subconscious

You yourself have provided the problem and the solution .. "I'm thinking about too many things at the same time, and sometimes I miss the ball because of that." Just try to solve only one thing at a time .. and consider it a success if at the end of that day you have been able to fix that...
  17. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

@songdavid98 : You are right that I missed that point . I thought he was talking only about over the table Chiquita for penholders. @OSPH : I am not saying that you will be at Wang Hao's level , but if I were trying to learn RPB , I would emulate him for learning, his grip etc. than Xu Xin's...
  18. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Here's my two cents on this topic ... . ...the over the table Chiquita is such a dynamic shot that there are very few types of serves / placement of serves that are not returnable , for me the choice of which ball to flip and which one not too , depends on whether I have the footwork to come...
  19. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Yes, for example look at this match vs Ma Long in 2013 ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXylJVNIoDQ If I were a Penholder and wanted to learn RPB thats the guy I would try to emulate , Xu Xin's RPB does not cut it for me :)
  20. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Wang Hao used to open with the BH flip way more than Xu Xin ...
