I use the water based TT Revolution No.3 sealer. 8-10 drops and then smooth it out with the attached sponges. This must be much better than a brush to get the layer(s) even.

Yep use a fine sanding paper from the bottom to the top and back along the fibres, and add a final very thin layer of varnish. And don't use turpentine with water based liquids, just add some water if it's too thick.

If you play an aggressive game and hit really hard, brushing the ball, I say go for a 41deg sponge and perhaps put some Seamoon Booster on it. The harder sponge rewards a faster and hard-hitting game. :)

An easy way to do this is to apply a couple of booster layers. It will stretch the rubber a little bit per layer.

I think it's not boosted (H8). It's just a paper-ish thing, and not attached to the sponge. It just lays loose over the sponge.
