  1. First time with H3N Rubber coming from d09c - How to boost and what to expect?

Boosting itself is not that complicated. To get a feeling for it just take an old (dumped) rubber and try it. Boosting H3N: Some remove the glue layer first, some boost through that glue layer, some remove the glue layer and apply a new glue layer and boost and so on. Nowadays I'm lazy and...
  2. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

We are currently around mid-season so I didn't play that much with it and it is not on one of my normal blades which are also faster... What I can say is that it has a similar medium/medium-low trajectory as a H3BS on that blade but higher than Telson 100 475 for sure. Base speed (light...
  3. Best Viscaria higher quality alternative

Skachkov and the (supposedly) identical Baum Esprit have a larger head size than all the other blades mentioned (160 mm x 152 mm). My Esprit is even after sanding/filing it down to a normal head size a lot less crispy than e.g. a V14Pro or Viscaria.
  4. it szocs to lose.....

Full match (just a bit longer ;)):
  5. Best Viscaria higher quality alternative

Donic Zhang Jike Original, 729 NB49, DHS Hurricane Long 5A (different fiber), FZD ALC (slightly different handle). Slower with more control: Depends on current blade's weight. Maybe a slightly less heavy Viscaria is enough. But before I would pay that much for an ordinary off-the-shelf blade...
  6. If you use DHS Hurricane, what degree do you use?

39° and 40° on FH, 37° and 38° on BH. Depends on what I'm using on BH (currently Battle 3 38°) and time of year because quite some venues over here are not reasonably heated in winter and not cooled in summer. Boosted with two thin layers of Seamoon 2 and reboosted once or twice depending on...
  7. Where do you buy your equipment from?

Mostly AliExpress 1), glue and some non-Chinese equipment from local stores 2), and even Butterfly Europe is not that far away from where I live ;) 1) Global Sports Store, Table Tennis World Store, Champion Table Tennis Store, XVT, Goo, Beo, HWSPORT Store, Chinese PingPong, Playa PingPong...
  8. Difference between various friendship battle versions

Seems like B2 with blue topsheet and blue sponge is at least available in 39° and 40° https://aliexpress.com/item/1005009878792277.html
  9. Help with forehand rubber

This sounds tempting although I haven't had any issues with various H3(N)s (commercial, provincial, Nittaku, orange and blue sponge) but some issues with ESN rubbers e.g. V>15 Stiff with a harder sponge than V>15 Extra. Durability of ESN hybrid rubbers is just not comparable to (even boosted)...
  10. Changing my Loki E9

Tight budget but doable: All-wood blades from slow to fast: Yasaka Sweden Extra, Donic Persson Powerplay or Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive. Even cheaper 729 Z-1, Loki Kirin K5 or 729 Rosewood 5. Carbon blades: 729 Blue Arylate (outer), 729 Yellow Arylate (inner), Loki Rxton 5 Pro Provincial...
  11. Looking for a fast backhand rubber with good spin

Maybe Loki Telson 100. It is fast when necessary, still short game is good, and low arc (too low for my liking) but I don't know the mentioned Yinhe rubbers. ESN rubbers: Evolution MX-P comes to mind. Usually somewhere on offer.
  12. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Table Tennis World Store on AliExpress sells 37, 38, 39, 40, 41 in red and black https://aliexpress.com/item/1005009239802728.html Catalogue mentions only 40° for this version https://book.yunzhan365.com/ogvga/mmss/mobile/index.html#p=22 Text mentions 37 to 41...
  13. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Some data for Rxton 7 National, red, 38°: 100g incl. vacuum package, 75g with foil on topsheet. Boosted with two thin layers Seamon 2 and cut to 157 mm x 150 mm: 48g - 49g. Sponge came with a glue layer similar to H3N. No bad smell.
  14. Post your latest EJ purchase

It's served ;) I've no idea if all Rxton 7 versions come with a glue layer like H3N. H3N BS also surprised me with quite a dome straight from the package. Blade: Rxton 5 Pro Provincial (outer carbon), 89g, 1308 Hz
  15. Thinking of upgrading

There's basically zero difference in spin between a slow and a fast blade 1) 2) Tiefenbacher and Durey measured a difference of around 2% between a slow defensive and a 1-ply hinoki blade 1). The most important factor for spin is the rubber and of course technique. And as Tyce said: I can focus...
  16. I want to buy A DHS Hurricane 3 Blue Sponge from tabletennis11

Page 84: "What's the difference between NEO rubber and organic rubber? Can NEO rubber use organic glue? The difference between NEO rubber and non-NEO rubber lies in the strengthening treatment of the sponge, not the organic or inorganic glue used when gluing the racket. Because NEO rubber...
  17. tried out a clubmembers setup and now i am a bit confused

Not necessarily. Primorac, Korbel and TSPW share the same construction. Korbel and TSPW being the faster ones but both have larger heads than Primorac. Combined with heavier FastArcs the TSPW can feel slower than a lighter (Primorac + Glayzer) setup that can be accelerated faster.
  18. Palio Legend 3 - what wood composition is that? koto?

Maybe ask Sergio / @hipnotic from https://www.sdcttblades.com/ to build a custom version.
  19. Good FH rubbers for YEO

Thickness is the easiest to answer: when boosting at most 2.15 mm. It's still possible to get the rubber including glue layer to over 4 mm but less likely than with a 2.2 mm sponge. Hardness: depends... According to DHS (from page 84 "Handbook of DHS T.T. Products(in Chinese language)"...
  20. DHS fans unite!

I do that too and sometimes in doubles... We could swap rubbers ;) My H3N 37 with two layers Seamoon 2 sounds great but became too soft. The previous 38 OS was better. Currently I'm using Battle 3 38 with two layers initially and one additional layer after around two weeks (swapped from a...
