Lets be frank its only there because of money. Like football though there, even with Ronaldo and the like playing it will lack atmosphere and fans. Great for the players prize money wise. Not so great for fans/building fanbase.

Feels like you need to test yourself against better players and then see where you are?

I loving D80 on BH. Its the biggest area I need to build on my game. But it gives me better consistency even while I'm tweaking technique and confidence in the stroke.| @Wrighty67 has got me thinking about D64 though now lol.

Sorry just resurrecting this thread. I have bought a second hand blade and just wanted to clean it up a little bit, not to be perfect - just freshen it up before using. Sanding maybe a little extreme? Is there a way to just bring it back to life a little?

Agreed - not saying copy the model of darts - but be inspired by it. Darts is a truly terrible sport to watch live, much better on the telly in comparison (bit like golf). Yet they create an occasion to draw people in.

Agree with @Ultravisitor - chinese rubbers both sides of a def blade are going to get heavy quick! Victas VS401 is what i would recommend - spinny made for chopping, sounds exactly what you are after!

I agree - i think D80 is a great BH rubber and easier to use than D05 on that side. Course D05 is more powerful and spinny at the high end but takes more skill to use. Everybody thats tried my bat loves the D80 on BH.

I was courtside - counted 30 seats long and 3 rows deep either side, then some behind the end so I would say 250. There were some family/sponsors/officials but at least 70/80% were tickets i would say. (I used to watch a lot of non-league football so used to estimate smaller crowds :-) ) Look...

Totally agree with everything said - it was a decent event, and for me to see TT live at that level was great, as havent had the opportunity before (i think there was at least double the amount of people you said @Wrighty67 - but even so still nowhere near enough). But it could be sooooo much...

Yep - ridiculous prize money. Quite frankly embarrassing!! How can the table tennis bodys that run these events think its appropriate?

Ranefur was so relaxed - like he had turned up just for a knock :) Agree his touch was incredible, and his backhand serve really gave everyone trouble with the variation. As i said Cho - was just a different level - approach, his play, temperament - hes obviously played at a higher level and...

Cho Daeseong - what a player, was levels above!!!!!. Lilly came back strong after the first end. Was great to watch up close!

He’s been in a lot of the comms and advertising so it’s a big loss and takes a little bit of the shine off the event. Hopefully Gionis plays as he was the other player I was really looking forward to seeing live.

Junior and vet British league is played in a velodrome in Derby - so happens a bit over here. Wonder if they have some kinda deal with British cycling? It does make the venues quite big/tall. Would that effect play?
