  1. Butterfly Dignics 05 Rubber Review

The price is horrible - I didn't pay full retail for my sheet and if I couldn't import it for less then I wouldn't have bothered. The only way the price increase makes any sense is if BTY's claim of increased durability means I can get much more use out of it. And even then I don't like the...
  2. Butterfly Dignics 05 Rubber Review

I think it was Zeio who brought up the difficulty of conversion tables with this stuff. If ESN use Shore and BTY Asker scales, the measuring devices and processes are so different that there isn't a 1:1 conversion of any accuracy worth using. FWIW, Dignics 05 feels nowhere near 53. Much...
  3. Butterfly Dignics 05 Rubber Review

I don't think anyone knows how to accurately compare the scales the different manufacturers use. Zeio had the most info about that if I recall. But I'd say it's close to 48 if my guess counts. I thought it would feel harder than it does - only slightly harder than T05 overall, so I guess the...
  4. Butterfly Dignics 05 Rubber Review

Boll's FH - it was T05 Hard for a while. Then he got spotted using Tenergy 09C a few months ago.
  5. Butterfly Dignics 05 Rubber Review

It's very strong on shots that rely on fine contact - BH flick receives are incredible with it. Has a really special performance in that area. It's also a lot of fun in those mid-distance loop-loop rallies where you can react to a dropping ball with a bit more wrist action to generate the...

  7. New Butterfly rubber "Dignics 05" 2019

Yes, exactly. I think it hasn't had the immediate impact locally here in the UK because the retail price isn't keen enough (may as well buy Tenergy), and it's not easy for the casual browser to shop around due to Butterfly's regional price fixing policy. The few people I know who have tried...
  8. New Butterfly rubber "Dignics 05" 2019

That depends on how you define "value", obviously. At £43 a sheet it doesn't offer enough over the competition to justify the higher price IMO. At £25 it's excellent and undercuts the other options! Less than half the price of tenergy, and 1/3 of the price of dignics.
  9. New Butterfly rubber "Dignics 05" 2019

Yeah, that does sound quite simple in the end. :D I wonder less about the marketing (which is flashy but ultimately the same thing as always - more, better, more, better etc) and more about the target audience. Will Dignics grow the consumer base? Or will it just take sales away from Tenergy...

  11. New Butterfly rubber "Dignics 05" 2019

I'm saying it's a volatile situation - pros switch, it's hard to know why they do that, and even if we do know it's hard to say how much their reasoning applies to amateurs like ourselves. We can pick on Boll's specific case, or we could take Kenta (who is listed as D05 both sides), or back to...
  12. New Butterfly rubber "Dignics 05" 2019

Except he's been using Tenergy 09C on FH in recent weeks. And it's interesting that Dignics 09C has just appeared on the LARC. So it's a dynamic situation.

  14. 729 Battle II Rubber Review

Nope. I tried 4 different ones and then sort of drifted away from it. It's a good rubber, but so many variations! Wears me out.

  16. 729 Battle II Rubber Review

The tack scrubs more speed off initially in comparison, but it has a reasonable bit of elasticity once you get past that (I used the 38 degree sponge, so there will be variation here if you go harder). Still slower than Big Dipper. I'd say it's a touch faster than H8. 3-60 is hard to compare...
  17. 729 Battle II Rubber Review

I've had 4 sheets of Battle 2 now. There's a little variation in them (although they're different "editions", blue sponge, provincial, golden, etc etc), but they're all tackier than the list above. Probably closest to H8, but higher throw. More spin sensitive than all of the options as well...
  18. What happened with TT11?

Yeah, looks like they have an issue again.
  19. Qatar Open 2019

Thought Hari had adapted really well to Falck's pretty specific challenge. Games 5 and 6 were very impressive. Falck is in great form at the moment though, and the momentum just seemed to drift away in the final game. Brilliant match.
