I usually don't use a first layer of glue (takes too long for the booster to penetrate that layer) and remove the glue layer if it's a H3 Neo.The most important thing is imo to use really thin layers of booster (sponge should feel dry after a couple of hours/at least significantly less than 10...

If one has never played with H3 or similar rubbers I would nowadays suggest to start with an easier to use hybrid rubber like the DHS Hurricane 8-80 37°. There is even a hybrid rubber with a soft 42.5° sponge: Donic BlueGrip S2 (same sponge as the non-tacky Donic Acuda S2)

I would also recommend not to switch to a new blade and to new rubbers at the same time. Try out new/different rubbers first and than decide if you also need a different blade. Same control with more spin and maybe more power... depends on how control is defined... more spin can mean more...

Just to clarify things: The two month that I got from my backhand ESN rubbers was at a time when I was training around 40 hours per month. If I would train 21 to 30 hours per week like davizoosk than I would need to change these rubbers every 1.5 to 2 weeks...
