It was a ridiculous call. I saw no time wasting at all, and CM was actually in her service posture so I have no idea why the umpire decided to do that. Umpire also needs to recognize that there needs to be a little time for the crowd to settle down.

What a gutsy performance from Hina! You can see how tightly she was bandaged just above the wrist. To beat a surging SYB like that to win a bronze was a mental battle as well because she obviously could not play her normal game. She had to play with a slower pace and really picking her spots...

Hard to say for sure, but it's possible there may not be a superstar in the same vein as ZJK, ML, FZD at least in the near future. Same thing for the women. There may not be someone in the near future on the level of SYS or WMY.

At this point it doesn't matter what happens in the gold medal match. Making it to the finals taking down world #1 from CHINA and taking down world #6 is amazing in and of itself.

Truls the giant killer!

Really impressed with Truls. He's making it a point to take the 1st attack no matter what the consequence. His touch play is mostly to get Hugo off balance and attack whatever comes back. Hugo has to get the 1st attack in especially on his own serve.
