I am so happy Hayata pulled through. Wow, the North Korean player is tough as nails and so solid fundamentally. But you are gonna be tested in the Olympics, and this player was a tougher test than Adriana would have been.

The North Koreans literally do not play WTT tournaments. Her record consists of just one tournament: the Asian Games to qualify for the Olympics. They are the eternal dark horses.

It's a reminder how dynamic sports is. SYB had not been playing well leading up to the Olympics, but the ability has been there in the past. And actually she played pretty incredible not that long ago at the World Cup just losing to Hayata 4-3.

Actually, specs wise the Hayata H2 is thicker (5.8mm) than her previous blade which was Gyo En (5.6mm). But the white edge tape she had previously used made the blade look thicker.

Not sure which stream you're listening through, but on NBC/PeacockTV, I've heard him a few times. Most recently, he was commentating on Hirano vs. Batra. Seems they're rotating commentators amongst sleepy voice lady whose name I don't know, Adam, and Don Parker.
