  1. Specific next blade for my playing style?

1400 is the very beginning of your journey. Be patient. Learn to get into rallies. Learn to keep the ball on the table with every ball hit at around 70% of your maximum power. Learn to be consistent when you have to move to get to the ball and to have easy transitions between FH and BH...
  2. Any tips on how to stay calm for tournaments?

Good advice already given. Another thing to keep in mind is that nobody but you cares if you win or lose. So do your best to keep your ego out of it. (Not easy but try). If you play badly nobody will think worse of you for it ( and it will show what you need to work on). Only you will care (and...
  3. Specific next blade for my playing style?

He will get better as soon as he stops trying to "hit as hard as he can" but that is another topic.
  4. Specific next blade for my playing style?

H3 is very unforgiving of any lapse in technique and I am assuming you started to get serious about TT as an adult. Go with something grippy, not tacky.
  5. Specific next blade for my playing style?

1400 in five months is very good. Ditch the H3. Do not buy a faster blade. Keep playing. Dont get impatient. Improvement comes in bursts followed by plateaus. It is just how it is. (And obey The Rules of course).
  6. Specific next blade for my playing style?

The problem you have against these better players is not a lack of power. You are 1400. Almost by definition you are predictable. Better players can see where you are going to hit the ball very early on as you execute your stroke. So they just move there. Loop harder and spinnier at them...
  7. 1.8mm, 2.0mm or max thickness?

Learn to play with max rubbers or nearly max. Current 40+ balls really require it. Mark V was good when I was playing in the 70s. Much has changed since then! Listen to yogi bear.
  8. Looking for some cheap rubber for training.

I know money may be an issue but in racket sports it is best to train with the equipment you will use in competition.
  9. Learning INVINCIBLE Backhand Loop

Its a nice backhand loop but people can still see it.
  10. Soul spin blade

Good news because their Basalt blade was quite slow but their construction quality is incredible and you can get a huge handle if needed.
  11. The truth about Nets and Edges!!

Some might argue that lighting blades on fire and posting the resulting videos here would be stupid and it would be better to donate the blades to promising children in need. To which I would reply, what is the fun in that? What would you rather see?
  12. The truth about Nets and Edges!!

Brs has achieved an impressive level of enlightenment. Indeed, the Table Tennis Gods would find the spectacle of a flaming ZLC blade pleasing, and posting such a video here would most certainly solve brokenball's net/edge problem, and probably go so far as to strike fear into the hearts of his...
  13. The truth about Nets and Edges!!

We can only hope that Carl is incorrect about this, as a violation of Rule 51 is an especially grave transgression abhored by the Gods. I don't know brokenball's TT level, but perhaps he could find an aerospace engineering PhD program in China next door to a TT academy where he could get his...
  14. Is there a spinny short pimple?

This is very true and it is why after a year or so I went back to inverted. Looking back it was kind of a fun experiment but given how long I had played with inverted, doomed to fail. I never learned to use SP the right way. Interestingly though, once I readjusted back to inverted I feel like...
  15. The truth about Nets and Edges!!

This does indeed sound like you have angered the Table Tennis Gods. Are you obeying The Rules? Are your socks too high or (!!!!) black? Are you sweating on the table? Are you an amateur player who chos? Have you meditated on the nothingness of Rule 88? If you Obey the Rules (all of them!)...
  16. Is there a spinny short pimple?

Butterfly Raystorm in max thickness. Spinniest SP in existence. But it's also the least disturbing for your opponent. So all in all a tradeoff. You can hit weird spinny slow BH loops with it.
  17. The truth about Nets and Edges!!

Yes Loerting but because you are one who obeys Rule 6 and are therefore harder than steel, both mentally and physically, you simply laugh at such pitiful attempts at distraction. You get on with the business of annihilating such barbarians even if you did gift them a point on a serve. After...
  18. New "Rules" for Table Tennis

    Obey. Ba'al has spoken, etc.
  19. The truth about Nets and Edges!!

No. Ba'al has spoken. But they are required to be tough enough to ignore such pointless attempts at distraction, and serve the damned ball ( no more than three bounces beforehand).
