  1. What is it specifically that you like about Table Tennis?

I played table tennis once a week for about 2 or 3 years as a teenager, then didn't really touch it for 20 years. I've only just gotten back into it for 6 months or so. I wanted to hear from everybody, what is it specifically that you like about Table Tennis? Things I like - I like the way the...
  2. Question about H3Neo

When you use the real booster, does it only work on the dense hard sponge? Can you use booster on soft, porous, or ESN sponges?
  3. Spinny setup

I actually dont even have a good sense of what is a good blade for myself. When I play with a faster blade like Viscaria, after 20 minutes I feel used to the blade and feel I can play really well with it. If I play with a slower blade like Stiga OC, I get used to it after 20 minutes and feel I...
  4. DHS 301x and Fang Bo B2X compared to Viscaria

I think most people switch to Bo2 because they want more power.
  5. Spinny setup

Not at all, its just fun for me now to try out and understand the product positioning. I like to have the blades and rubbers mapped out in my mind in terms of their quality cost and performance. Getting a new cheap $12 rubber keeps me engaged and looking forward to the next session. I would...
  6. Spinny setup

    What does that mean?
  7. Spinny setup

Im not a high end EJ like you, but I like to find little gems in the garbage bin. I just ordered a Sanwei CC because I was curious how well a $12 blade would perform compared to the modern day composite blades. Im also trying to work my way through all the sub $15 Chinese rubbers to see if...
  8. Spinny setup

Btw, is the ZJK ALC same speed as the LGY ALC?? BTY website says same 11.8 reaction rating. But Revspin says LGY is faster.
  9. Manufacturer speed ratings vs Revspin ratings

I just lined up the TB ZLC against Yinhe V14 Pro. From my eye, they are exactly the same thickness. ZLC is bouncier, same thickness. V14 has a harder feel, and TB ZLC has a flexier feel. Altogether, which one would be faster??
  10. Spinny setup

Nice Nice, post pics and comments about its characteristics. Im curious how it plays compared to the original line of ALC blades
  11. Spinny setup

Duke, you are OG EJ. Are you going to get the Super Viscaria??
  12. Manufacturer speed ratings vs Revspin ratings

So in this case, should I believe that the TB ZLC is slower or faster than the TB ALC? BTY says slower, Revspin says faster.
  13. Manufacturer speed ratings vs Revspin ratings

I know a lot of people dont like revspin ratings, because they tend to be exaggerated. But generally, I tend to think revspin gives you the right DIRECTIONAL idea of speed. For example, if Clipper is 8.5, and Viscaria is 9.0, then generally revspin tends to be right about telling you Viscaria...
  14. Question about H3Neo

Wow even umpire gear, you are one really serious TT guy. But you got a lot of really cool gear between your blades, rubbers, boosters.
  15. Question about H3Neo

That is so cool. How much did the National blue sponge H3 cost?? I wonder what those other accessories you got were.
  16. Question about H3Neo

Yeah originally I had a few rubbers such as H3 and Target that just were not very bouncy for me. So I read up a little and a lot of people said they use booster. But not knowing how serious of a player I would be, or how often I would boost, and the booster costing more than the rubber itself, I...
  17. Question about H3Neo

Of course, nobody is saying baby oil is a better booster than a real booster. But does it provide 20% of the benefit? or how close is it? I would really be curious just to see a definitive test to put the question to rest.
  18. Question about H3Neo

Well I really have no idea about chemistry or air bubbles and whatever, thats why a straight test just gives a straight answer. Either the ball bounces from the rubber further/faster or it doesn't. There are comments all over the internet recommending boosting hard rubbers with baby oil, its...
  19. Question about H3Neo

Have you tested the COR of H3Neo boosted with baby oil vs non-boosted vs boosted with haifu?
  20. Question about H3Neo

Yeah makes sense. I have found my favorite rubbers are tacky but lively Chinese rubbers, such as Bloom Power, Battle 2, Reactor Tornado/Thunder, Big Dipper. How would those rubbers fair in your 1, 2, 3rd gear framework?
