  1. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

Everyone gets free kawaii smiles ... double Miyu for the win! Unfazed by JJH's hairdo(Chun Li from Street Fighter vibes), Japan dominates game 5 to take down the top seed S. Korean pair.
  2. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

CXT making a case for making the Olympic team. Near perfect table tennis.
  3. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

Mima did her homework and tested Diaz's lateral footwork. As you mentioned Mima worked the angles, but also she also forced Diaz back not allowing the BH punch which I think I only saw once. Interesting first round matchups for players to evaluate where they stand. Although Joo Cheonhui did...
  4. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

The trophy looks like it's being attacked by bees.
  5. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

Congratulations to Sweden 8-6 over France including a great performance from Linda Bergstrom going 3-0 (20-18 in the 3rd) over Yuan Jia Nan.
  6. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

    Time for some Tomo magic.
  7. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

What can you do when WMY is playing practically perfect table tennis and hitting edges too?
  8. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

Fantastic play from Togami/Miwa! SYS looked very vulnerable.
  9. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

Controversy regarding WCQ's serve. Alexis stops the point. Umpire calls let. Alexis says "Service is here" and shows the ball contacted behind the head. The umpire, who I don't think understands English that well, says "WCQ behind the end line". You can hear Alexis argue with China's coach...
  10. What do you think of Yuna Ojio's style?

Yes, she is fun to watch. I love to see unique styles like hers. Her combination of great footwork, short pips fh, reading of serve, and perhaps her grip provides the stability to do this: And her opponent's opening loops better be spinny enough or they crushed like this: She beat her...
  11. what happened in this match

I've seen a number of times a player plays a couple of points, say they cannot continue, and that's the end of it... match over. If injury or illness, I'm not sure why that was not done here. Everything about this is just odd.
  12. what happened in this match

Yeah, I don't get it. If injury, play a point and default. Throwing the match like that is disrespectful to the game which is totally unexpected from NXL. Was there sports betting involved?
  13. WTT World Youth Champs in Slovenia

Ugh! Another reason why the scheduling of Mixed Teams annoys me! It's denied us a potential LSD/Felix showdown for the WJTTC crown this year.
  14. JTTA: Selection System to be Revamped for Paris 2024

I prefer Kihara as the 3rd player for Paris, but you can't go wrong with either one. Hayata and Nagasaki should just step aside and let Miwa and Kihara duke it out in the finals!
  15. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

WTT bait and switches Japan by pulling the extenuating circumstance card. Poor Hirano
  16. Rachel Sung's Equipment

Amy and Lily will play singles. Most likely Rachel will be chosen as the 3rd player especially being a lefty for doubles as well as being the 3rd highest world ranked US woman.
  17. JTTA: Selection System to be Revamped for Paris 2024

There is a strong case to be made for Miyuu Kihara as 3rd player on Japan's Olympic team. I know I've mentioned in the past that Miwa Harimoto has an excellent case as the 3rd player, but the more I think about it, why not Miyuu? It was the Miwa/Kihara duo that beat SYS/WMY at the 2022 (that...
  18. WTT Contender Taiyuan 2023

Togami is rewarded with world ranking #24 for his great effort in Taiyuan. Harimoto will drop out of the top 10 next week due to expiring points from his 2022 Asian Cup win. It will be an interesting battle between Harimoto and Togami to stake claim to Japan TT's top male player.
  19. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

I just hope they play Hirano enough in singles to gain enough points to make the WTT Finals in Nagoya.
