  1. Slow down a blade or speed up the rubbers?

I used Tenergy 05 in max thickness on my Viscaria before. I think Karis would be too slow for tne Appelgren but good on any of tbe composite blades you listed, especially Viscaria or TBS. I have not ever tried it in 1.9. I use 2.1.
  2. Slow down a blade or speed up the rubbers?

I am now a fan of using very linear rubbers on a medium fast blade (say OFF, not OFF+). Linear rubbers are things like Karis M, Stiga Mantra, TSP Regalis, and even something like Evolution EL-S. Mostly they have thin topsheets and quite short pips underneath. You can use those with a pretty...
  3. Most Soft-Feeling Artificial Fiber

You feel more vibration with the Innerforce because the composite is deeper, not because of Zylon vs Arylate.
  4. Swedish Open 2017

Whining about the ball again? CNT loves that excuse when things dont go their way and they have been using it a lot.. Stop it. Harden up and train. CNT has more resources than anyone overall. They have had access to D40 balls longer than anyone. (And if tbey have been training with 2 star...
  5. What are the unwritten rules of table tennis?

Don't try to win the warm-up and dont spray the ball all over the place. Thanks for pointing that one out.
  6. What are the unwritten rules of table tennis?

Some sports that have been around for a long time have accumulated a large number of "unwritten rules" that if broken can lead to fights and considerable social criticism by fellow athletes, even complete shunning. Two sports where there are vast numbers of these are baseball and road cycling...
  7. Zhang Jike using Tenergy 05 on the forehand!

Possibly. Alternatively he thinks it may help him with ABS balls. Alternatively he has been playing terribly for considerably more than a year and is desperately willing to try about anything at this point. The one thing for sure is that it means that he is not quite ready to throw in...
  8. Fan Zhendong using new DHS blade

Maybe not that strange if he has been using a Btfly ALC for years
  9. China National Team Dropping Like Flies! Is This Because of Liu Guoliang?

People still blaming the ball. Nope. Thats not it.
  10. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

When i miss my BH it is 90% of the time because I am not quite far enough out to where the ball is. Jimmy Butler was the one who really made me aware of it. One of the many pieces of amazing free advice I owe him for.
  11. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

Jus remember that your BH is much more sensitive to positioning than your FH. Watch Kreanga closely. When he rips BHs the ball is always in the same place relative to his body.
  12. Difference between stiffness amd hardness

Sadly the only way to know is to try yourself.
  13. Difference between stiffness amd hardness

Hard blades vibrate quite a bit at quite high frequencies when the ball strikes. Soft blades don't. Flexy blades vibrate a lot at low frequencies and stiff blades don't. Blades vibrate at more than one frequency at the same time. (Same reason a guitar and violin sound different even when...
  14. Backhand blocking finally clicked for me

The most important thing about BH blocking (or any other BH shot, but especially blocking) is you can't be reaching for the ball. You have to move to the ball. You have to take the ball in front of you. Otherwise you have no fine control and you will miss (or at the very least, you will have...
  15. What handle type do you use

    Indeed.
  16. TT-Japan, Table tennis store reliable?

They are one of the best
  17. What handle type do you use

Some dead things are best left dead IMHO.
  18. Suggestions for Viscaria replacement

Try to find one of the super light Viscarias they were making a few yers back.
  19. Can Timo Boll's victory give rest of world belief?

I can't see either Waldner or Boll throwing a match in a slam final no matter what people say on the internet. Actually Dima now and Persson back then were capable of beating anyone on a good day.
