  1. Replacement of TBS and TB ALC!!!

Only change one thing at a time. Try the new blade with your old rubbers.
  2. two versions of the plastic balls Double Happiness 40+ ( photo Ding Ning)

This is an old thread and we have newer ones with lots of info on various D40+ and other ABS balls. One star balls are bad overall. I found the D40+ one star unplayable but I like the 3 star version very much. Same with seamless.
  3. Does Ma Long have an old school style?

FZD has more power from close in on the BH side maybe. Short arms help there. Not on the FH! Not on either side once they have to back up. As Carl says, tbey are 1 and 2 for a reason. I still insist that body shape is important in determining how you play and always has been. Persson and...
  4. Does Ma Long have an old school style?

A good point but even allowing for fact we are talking about only elite players, I will never agree that Ma Long is not a power player. He is not unidimensional, but he hits his forehand as hard as anyone in history. His BH is also very very strong, but not as aggressive in the opening as FZD...
  5. Best feeling allround plus blade

The Appelgren blade has such a good feel. A classic for sure.
  6. Does Ma Long have an old school style?

FZD is a power player and Ma Long is not?? I just can never agree with that. I agree that composite blades are better with these balls, but then I think they were better for 40 mm too especiaaly without speed glue. With 38 mm ball and glue maybe not.
  7. A bunch of questions

Probably the best clue to flex short of playing it is the tone it makes when you bounce a ball on a bare blade (or knock it against your head). It is not perfect, but lower tones often come from flexier blades. Also measure thickness. In general, blades with composites are stiffer. You can...
  8. The UpSideDown Method of Sealing Your Blade

Nothing is wrong with them. However in North America the stuff Carl uses can be bought at every single hardware or home care store and the big can he uses costs less than the little bottle sold for table tennis.
  9. The UpSideDown Method of Sealing Your Blade

Dudes, I think right after the founder saw those trees he realized that like every single atom in his finger was like a solar system. Then he got the munchies and was really hungry. Then he decided that he would have a new logo. Then he got more munchies so ate the entire pizza in the fridge...
  10. Low backhand power

Marcos Freitas still trains a lot with 2-2 and variations on it. See Dan's podcast with him, around 14:00 - 17:00 (linked below). That interview had a big impact on me, I think it was one of Dan's best. Ever since I heard that, I have made that the mainstay of my practice. I had been getting...
  11. why europe sucks so bad?

Well, you could always try Buenos Aires.
  12. The UpSideDown Method of Sealing Your Blade

Dude. Does that shirt mean you are a doper? Like, are you cool, man?
  13. Low backhand power

In this case I mean two BHs, and then two FHs, so you have to move from side to side. This drill can be easy or hard (depending on who is giving you the balls and where they are putting them). I don't know if everyone calls it that. I always heard it referred to that way.
  14. Low backhand power

I don't know exactly but big difference. I could speculate but IANAPOE (I am not a physicist or engineer).
  15. Low backhand power

It is incredibly important and you are not alone in being unaware of it. The simplest way to think about it is that the center of of your blade is not moving as fast. But it is also not the most powerful part of your blade either. And of course, if you are thinking about where to hit the ball...
  16. Low backhand power

I find the 2-2 drill is most effective with someone able to block that way, and it should be done close in at first, and then at a more middle distance.
  17. Low backhand power

I should note that I made that realization a long time ago, in the 38 mm ball era. Even so, I periodically need to remind myself of it. I have seen a lot of people who are unaware of it.
  18. Low backhand power

Obviously without seeing the OP it is impossible to say what is going on, and all I can do is mention two things that have helped me. My power, spin, and accuracy increased from two things: One is working a lot on my footwork with 2-2 drills to really make sure I am in the right place to hit...
  19. Does Ma Long have an old school style?

Not a chance that touch serve returns will die out as a standard part of the elite game.
  20. Does Ma Long have an old school style?

This is a great analysis. There is nothing like numbers. ML is really good at using his opponent's power on his BH side and he can do Zhang Yining-style blocks of extremely angles shots to his BH and remain in position. He has insanely good touch on his BH and FH pushes/drops/returns. His BH...
