  1. 44 Players in 2016 Rio Olympics Are Chinese Born

Yes it is a big problem. Outsiders of table tennis just don't take the game seriously anymore when they see two Chinese-European players against each other. And their presence just keeps increasing because the young talents of a country don't get the possibility to develop themselves...
  2. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

That's Xu Xin's blade, I think it's Stiga Intensity NCT (Carbon?) with his silhouette/name on it.
  3. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Does anybody recognize Koki Niwa's blade? I think it's different from what he used to play with. EDIT: Just found it, he's sponsored by Victas nowadays and using Victas Quartet AFC.
  4. Pick your team to beat the CNT

I'm missing Koki Niwa. He might not be mature and experienced enough, but I think he will be getting closer in the future. Ovtcharov and Samsonov are my other bets. Boll has had his time, he's not enough of a challenge anymore. Mizutani showed great performance at the Olympics, but it still...
  5. Why Chinese win those critical points at the end?

Save your best tactics for last.. I think the Chinese always prepare a couple serve + 3rd ball combinations of which they expect they will result in instant points. Especially when it's 9-9 and the Chinese player is allowed to serve, it often ends in 11-9.
  6. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Ah, Timo Boll vs Joo Se Hyuk, World Cup 2011... One of my favourite matches of all time.
  7. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Germany Women reach the final after winning 3-2 against Japan. Unbelievable final game (and match point!) between Fukuhara and Han Ying...
  8. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Franziska is there, I've seen him in the audience. :) Probably training partner.
  9. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Depends. If they keep lining up Zhang Jike as their third player and keep winning 3-0, then yes, Zhang Jike will only play doubles. But I think that in the (semi) final they will put Zhang Jike as first or second player. EDIT: Actually, I think Liu Guoliang's tactics are to use Zhang Jike when...
  10. [Question] Does the Olympics count points for the World ranking?

Yes, Olympics count for World Ranking. I'm not sure about much influence the ITTF has on the Olympics, but I assume that the rules are exactly the same.
  11. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

Zhang Jike only cho's when he feels like he's winning. He lost that feeling somewhere halfway the second game.
  12. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

What a play by Ma Long. He's just dominating right now.
  13. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

Bronze medal match should be exciting!
  14. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

I just realized... If Liu Guoliang coaches Zhang Jike to a victory here, he can just sit back and enjoy the other two matches tonight. If he doesn't... He'll have a tough day and he'll be coaching two very important games tonight. :)
  15. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

And then Ding Ning fault serves and Li Xiaoxia does the same thing haha. Things getting serious already.
  16. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

No coaches when it's China vs China. Same for most other countries.
  17. My first 10.000

    Awesome! Side views only. :)
  18. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

Pretty much the same. The full replays of London that are available on Youtube now were uploaded a couple weeks after they were played. I think the same will happen this year.
  19. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

ITTF doesn't have the rights to use footage of the Olympic Games, so they won't do highlight videos. If others try to upload highlights on Youtube, their videos will get blocked.
  20. Marcos Freitas playing with Tibhar?

Portugal as a team is still sponsored by Tibhar. Freitas himself is sponsored by Butterfly.
