How are those final scores calculated? Because Persson is now ranked above Joo while Joo won 60% of his matches and Persson won only 20%.

Very interesting article. Makes me wonder about what happens when a player for example reaches the provincial- or number 2 national-team and then "fails". They probably didn't have an education or friends besides their training partners. Some of those are probably the Chinese players who leave...

In Zhang's match against Matsudaira it was purely the lack of concentration that brought him down 2-0... Similar thing happened in the against Takakiwa. He did concentrate in the end and tried to win it but it was too late. Did like Chuang vs Zhou Yu, awesome last points. :) Hope/Think it will...

Somehow this event passes by unnoticed every year... Also what's funny; the players just seem to do fun exhibition matches, while there's actually thousands of euros prize money for the semi-finalists.

Well seeing Zhang Jike's current form (also before his injury) I think both Ma Long and Xu Xin deserve to be ranked higher.

Wang Hao seems popular. o.o Players like Ma Long and Zhang Jike should be able to qualify without the need of this voting system, so I'm voting for one of the younger talents... I was thinking of Yan An and Fan Zhendong... but because Yan An doesn't seem to be popular at all I voted for Fan.

The TT club of my hometown just offers all primary schools around to use their 'facility' for free during a gym class. I'm sure that they got some new young players because of that.
