I've had a teammate who actually played competitions with rubbers that are at least 15 years old. It's certainly not allowed, but until the higher leveled regional competitions, opponents don't care too much as they're just playing for fun.

I agree. I haven't seen another forum about table tennis that's as active, organised and that has as much news and information as TTD does. And I think the amount of active members is still growing.
