  1. The drop shot executed to absolute perfection!

It was insane. He has such good touch. I have been with the team for over a month now working all the media for USATT and staying with the team as they train for Rio. They have been giving it everything, a really amazing team to work with!

  3. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Today was my first time out of the house in a week. Autoimmune problems giving me hell. It's hard to go from spending literally 10+ hours a day in a tt club to having none at all so I'm hoping I can recover soon so I can get back to training!
  4. Dimitrij Ovtcharov vs TableTennisDaily's Dan! 1 set showdown!

At least you got in a quality counterloop ;) haha tricky serves though he has great variation disguise.
  5. Short Pips Question among the professional players

Well the great thing about short pips is it's ability to take spin off the ball, it's all about getting the angle right and trajectory so you aren't giving an easy ball. Takes quite a while to get the more touchy stuff right, opening soft just takes good touch and finding the right amount of...
  6. Short Pips Question among the professional players

Butterfly Challenger is good, TSP Spectol Speed. Short pips is usually good for changing the pace of the ball, combining different ball placements sometimes fast sometimes soft and moving between a quick ball and a dead ball. A lot of short pips players will try and setup to receive a slow...
  7. Proposed Increase in Net Height!

Absolutely. It is in the trial stages as we debate about it. I spoke to delegates at the World Teams after the ITTF meetings and to Samsonov regarding some of the things which were discussed to 'further the sport' and this was one of them and it has been confirmed that they are now in trial...
  8. Zhang Jike CONFIRMED and will play singles at Rio Olympics 2016!

It's a well known fact, if you win an olympic medal in any sport in most countries then you are likely to receive more funding for your sport and also become more attractive to sponsors. I agree with NextLevel, table tennis is definitely falling under competition from other sports. This is...
  9. Zhang Jike CONFIRMED and will play singles at Rio Olympics 2016!

I said the world championships. It was just an example (a bad one obviously lol) The point is, Olympic medals result in greater funding for the sport and it's national associations.
  10. Zhang Jike CONFIRMED and will play singles at Rio Olympics 2016!

The two player system is the best system for the growth of the sport. If a country wins an olympic medal in a sport it usually receives quite a substantial increase in sport funding. Giving other countries a chance to win Olympic medals helps put the sport on the map in countries other than...

  13. What Streches do you us for Tabletennis?

When I trained with the Beijing team they were very thorough with their stretching particularly in areas around the hips and waist, lower back and legs. I always like to do ham strings and hip flexors regularly as they are probably the muscles I find become the most tight for me.

  17. Proposed Increase in Net Height!

The game is on the brink of potentially changing again as ITTF continue on their endeavour to alter and slow the game, reducing it's complexities to try and bring a simpler game for spectators to understand and watch. Photo source: London 2012: Feng Li/Getty Images Europe The latest proposal...
