Haha yep that's right. Years of coaching have left me a little flat footed at the best of times. I'm also not very flexible in my legs so bending my knees has to be forced. Definitely something I need to work on :D

I'm aware of that, that's why I wrote 'major' events. I didn't know Chinese association would still allow him to play. Usually when you go to play in a foreign country you have to apply to the national team to be 'released', I assumed that's what he would have done.

Couple of weeks it will start to come back. I had an autoimmune relapse after World Champs and my form absolutely plummeted in about 6 weeks during my recovery. It's been 2 months since I got sick and I've started training again and i'm keeping a daily video diary which I started 4 days ago...

Well I was at the world champs and I was thoroughly bored watching a lot of matches. The quality of the best rallies may be higher but on average I feel like the quality of most matches has declined. I feel like there are more errors with the plastic ball still even after 2 years.

I would choose number 3. As always in the USA the parents will make whatever decision they think is right for their kid, regardless of what your opinion is and whether or not you are doing a good job with their kid. How would I feel? By now...I would just accept it.

That's a good point. In New Zealand we have regional associations and players represent their region. Each main region has a purpose built table tennis stadium. When I coached in New Zealand I never coached against other players from my region. If the players both agreed before the match to have...

Here's my ten cents. Personally I won't coach players from my own club against each other, even if they aren't my students. It's just a moral rule that some coaches have and others don't. I think if a player is playing another player from their club then they should bring up the issue of coaches...

I would suggest taking another video with the camera only just past the end of the table, this is a little too far away :)

Don't worry it's coming. The first day I covered most of everything so it's pretty long. After today i'll be aiming to stick to about 5-6 mins and focus on important areas.
