  1. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

Can Dan invite the TTD forum to play Winter? Specifically against her naysayers.
  2. WTT Champions Chongqing 2026 Presented by AITO (10 - 15 March 2026)

Has any other JNT member beaten WMY in recent years? I only recall Han Ying then Batra at Saudi Smash, followed by Ito at Swedish Open 2019. WMY's form seemed off though. Many points ended after Odo took one or two swipes at the ball.
  3. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

HZJ has a very good acting career post-retirement then because she certainly looked frustrated.
  4. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

big win for Hayata who makes it through once again through sheer determination and grit. frankly I didn't think she would be able to make it past even HZJ but she's now solidly no.2 and in good position to take the Asian Games singles spot. Ito will likely fall off later this year when her WTTC...
  5. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

best chance for Hashimoto to reach semifinals and secure the Asian Games singles spot but once again the China machine strikes. Rumours were that Wu Yang was invited back as a practise partner although I didn't see anything concrete.
  6. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

the WTTC lineup announcement plus Odo being called out for her serves by a very sharp umpire (why can't they all be like this guy) probably made the difference this time. JNT is at a point now where you can't break into the main team without overcoming major setbacks (Hirano for Paris, Hayata at...
  7. Harimoto: "It's presumptuous to call it a rivalry." (#1135)

Did Odo qualify for the selection trial? I recall that Hashimoto didn't qualify although the reason eludes me. If so, the common denominator between Odo and Ito is that they both gave up spots where they should have played. Maybe JNT is trying to send a message? Nagasaki absolutely deserves the...
  8. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

IIRC Yuan has never beaten Yang or at least always struggled. Yuan came prepared this time with more accurate forehands but it wasn't enough. Style mismatch I think. But still seemed to give Yang quite a scare.
  9. Harimoto: "It's presumptuous to call it a rivalry." (#1135)

Assuming Hayata is also a lock, Odo+Hashimoto: Weak against NK Odo+Ito: Give up 3rd singles against CNT Ito+Hashimoto: Give up Odo development plan Pick your poison JNT?
  10. Harimoto: "It's presumptuous to call it a rivalry." (#1135)

when will they release the final lineup?
  11. WTT Star Contender Chennai-2026 (10 - 15 February 2026)

no bets on Yokoi taking this? I'd love for Hirano to win but Yokoi appears to have the superior backhand that's more refined and economical even compared to Odo's.
  12. WTT Star Contender Chennai-2026 (10 - 15 February 2026)

Peng Yu-Han beats Samara to make quarterfinals. Looks like she's playing a much more active version of Ayhika Mukherjee's style with anti and short pips.
  13. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

Sabine has reached a new WR high of 15 (previously 16 I believe). Curious to see if she and Hashimoto can break top 10 this year or if they will hit a wall. Both have what are traditionally thought to be limiting styles.
  14. 2026 Emperor's/Empress's Cup (aka All Japan) Jan 20-25, Doubles Jan 29-Feb 1

always thought it was strange why Wang Hui wasn't required to naturalise her name
  15. WTT Contender Muscat-2026 (19- 24 January 2026)

I did not add value judgement to that statement, but thanks for placing judgement on my curiosity? Adding a sandwich rubber would objectively add significant weight to an overall setup compared to OX LP, and if that was a deliberate choice by Shan then so be it.
  16. WTT Contender Muscat-2026 (19- 24 January 2026)

A little late, but does anyone know why Shan Xiaona flipped her racket to use her black side at 8:57? 3-0 up in the fifth game against Shao Jieni. I always thought single sided penholders pasted a spare sheet of long pips on the reverse side just in case of that 0.001% chance that they need a...
  17. 2026 Emperor's/Empress's Cup (aka All Japan) Jan 20-25, Doubles Jan 29-Feb 1

Kihara also upset seeding by beating Odo https://rallys.online/topic/alljapan/260124kiharamiyu/ Kihara was asked about their warm handshake after the match. She says that she and Odo are good friends. Seems like Odo is well-liked internationally as well as she's always training with different...
  18. 2026 Emperor's/Empress's Cup (aka All Japan) Jan 20-25, Doubles Jan 29-Feb 1

I wouldn't consider Sato in R6 and Hayata in quarters a good draw. I'll be pleasantly surprised if she makes the semis.
