  3. World Table Tennis Contender Doha 2021

So we can't watch full versions of table 1 matches once we've missed them? Or am I missing something here. The angle is amazing though, but the highlights for Ito vs Britt were hella boring.

I like the new seeding system. Draws were getting stale and predictable. Thank you to those who provided insightful analysis!

I'll be the contrarian and say that I quite like the WTT setup. Especially for doubles you get to clearly see how the players move in and out, and a better sense of how far they are from the table compared to the conventional view. Also Zhang Mo is always lowkey raging.
  7. Korea TTA Final Trial for Tokyo 2020+1 - 1/29, 1/31-2/1, 2/3-2/4

Both Dang Ye Seo and Seok Ha Jung participated in 2012 so... Kinda feel sad for Suh. She finally found her groove but it was too late.
  8. What If we were all still using celluloid table tennis balls?

What if new table surfaces were introduced? Imagine playing on a ceramic table (super fast) or clay table (super slow) 🤣
  9. Double short pips

Otilia Badescu of Romania played with short pips on both sides. She's more successful than the current generation of Romania girls, even winning a singles bronze in 1993. Here's a match of her playing against Tamara Boros at the 2003 wttc quarterfinals. Gives you and idea of how to handle strong...
  10. World Table Tennis Contender Doha 2021

Hayata's presence alone balances out the bottom half seeds for women 🤭 But chances are the event will be cancelled and I won't get to see Liu Shiwen play again 😭

Nevermind that they haven't played in any major tournaments in the past 4 years, let's allow one tournament to decide the fate of your career while simultaneously wipping out all the good results you've attained with your hard work!

Wonder what happened to Seok Ha Jung. She just faded away mysteriously after 2012 Olympics. Just speculation but perhaps she was one of the few who grew fed up of the system.
  13. Road to Tokyo 2020: Chinese TT Team

Between CM, SYS and LSW, the coaches all have a reason to be worried about their performance. So it's likely that they won't entrust any of them with the burden of three events.

The difference between fighting for a crown you've won and defending it (or in this case snatching it back)
  15. 2021 All Japan National Championships

https://youtu.be/7YA6p6c7PK0 Ito sure loves her 10 hour sleeps. She mentions it here too. Who can blame her. I feel sleepy after a 3 hour noob session. Good to see here that she's finally looking to improve her rallying.
  16. 2021 All Japan National Championships

Why would anyone want an Ito-Sato final? Unless they like watching choppers getting slaughtered
  17. 2021 All Japan National Championships

The chinese and japanese sure take their sports seriously. Maybe the key to demilitarisation is to funnel all military funding into petty sports races ????
  18. 2 Korean Natl Div 1 Level Players BH Blast Battle - ZERO Short Serves

obviously she's playing with pips on the forehand... did no one catch that?
  19. Tacky Chinese Rubber on the Backhand?

I've been exclusively using cheap, tacky Chinese rubbers on the forehand because I'm a poor student who doesn't want to blow $50++ on a rubber every 3 months. Today at a practise session I flipped my racket just for fun to play pips on the forehand and inverted on the backhand. Surprisingly I've...
