  1. World Team Cup 2019

Is that Fuji Hiroko on the Japanese bench? I'm sure she'll be in favour of the 4-player team system I proposed
  2. World Team Cup 2019

    Is this China's best lineup?
  3. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

Basically a similar format to what Zeio has posted but rearranged to: 1. Incorporate doubles in the first tie to emphasise its importance (and enhance the role of weaker players) as ITTF intended 2. Add an element of unpredictability in the 4th and 5th ties for spectatorship. Right now all ties...
  4. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

I really think ITTF should switch up the team format to allow four players to compete so that players like Sato have the opportunity to play. As it stands it’s impossible to fit a chopper into a team unless they are top 2 in an association. For Korea they have the headache of playing Seo Hyowon...
  5. World Team Cup 2019

Probably followed your logic of playing their best player in matches 1 and 3. Lily doesn't stand a chance against Ito anyway
  6. World Team Cup 2019

That's why i'm opposed to the current format. Not much of a 'team' if you rely so heavily on your best player to win two matches.
  7. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

I don't get it. Why can't Japan make the finals? Are they drawn against China in the semifinals despite being seeded 2nd? Which ghost team could possibly be seeded between Japan and China?
  8. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

Or they could make r32 qualifiers earn more points than seeded players who get knocked out immediately. Seems fair.
  9. Women's World Cup 2019

Feng tianwei beat Zhu and Liu at the 2015 Asian Cup. Can she do it again???
  10. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

ITTF used to have tournaments that started from the round of 64 and round of 128. Maybe they should consider implementing it again to make things more fair. Seeded players can just maintain their ranking now by attending tournaments and winning their first match every now and then.
  11. Women's World Cup 2019

Liu's fighting to cement her Olympic singles spot. Being a potential golden grand slam would be pretty convincing. Zhu is just fighting to keep herself in China's core.
  12. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

Is Zeio cheering for Ishikawa? O.O
  13. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

Ishikawa is probably the prime candidate for 4th place
  14. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

    What are the details?
  15. Xu Xin - The Greatest Doubles Player Ever

    <dl style="margin-top: 0.2em; margin-bottom: 0.5em; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><dt style="font-weight: bold; margin-bottom: 0.1em;">Doubles</dt></dl> World Championships: winner (2011, 15, 17); runner-up (2009). World Tour winner (×28): Slovenian Open 2009, Danish Open 2009...
  16. T2 Diamond Singapore 2019

Hopefully Yu Mengyu gets the host exemption. She had great potential but was always plagued by injuries. Too bad I won't be in Singapore to watch T2.
  17. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

is Hayata REQUIRED to get past Kato? I don't see any scenario where they are selecting Kato or Sato over Hayata. Right now the potential roster seems to be: Singles: Ito, (Hirano/Ishikawa) Third Player: Hirano/Ishikawa/Hayata
  18. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

Why havent they tried Hirano in mixed doubles yet? None of the current pairs can consistently beat the chinese
  19. German Open 2019

i wrote off the incident at wttc because it was a high stakes tournament but if she's consistently claiming points that aren't hers hmm well she will lose some supporters that's for sure
  20. German Open 2019

can't view the live stream from anywhere. Korea is more strict about ittf live streams than adult sites.
