  1. Dignics needs break-in?

Lol, I would not do that a Dignic 09c. I think the 40mm ball is to take away the extreme tackiness on Hurrican rubber, using new 40mm ball and the white residue to decrease the tackiness quickly. First of all, hurricane is dirt cheap, especially after 30% bulk discount from TT11. Yes, I will do...
  2. Koki Niwa Wood or Tibhar Force Pro Black edition

I am glad you like your new set-up. I have been EJ'ing for the past year. What I have found is, certain rubbers go with certain blades. Unless you try, you don't know. For example all the 47.5 degree or harder ESN rubbr have to go on my wood blades. For my carbon blade I need really soft ESN...
  3. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

I have Mercury II on my carbon blades. Mercury is tacky tacky! About the same as hurricane tacky. I have Rxton 1, Rxton 3 blue, Rxton 3 pink and Rxton on my old 5-ply wood blade. All of them are not that tacky. I feel that they are more like hybrid rubbers than traditional chinese rubber, if...
  4. Next step to improve: flicking the serve return

Keep on playing matches. And keep on playing to get better. Lose a few matches. Who cares? If you can beat them six months later, consistently, because you perfect your backhand flick return, why does it metter you lose to them today or tomorrow? Right now, I have five blades of Gambler...
  5. My Personal Guide to Rubbers on Aliexpress

Great. Yes you cannot go wrong with H3 neo. I have used Haifu seasmoon, Haifu seamoon national yellow and falco tempo long. I don't think it matters. Once you put three layers of each of them on the rubber, the rubber just curves up like crazy. I leave it for 24 hours before applying another...
  6. Tenergy 05 Hard vs Dignics 80 for forehand

Then I agree with T05 hard. I play Hurricane on my forehand so I am interested in Dignics 09c when the time comes.
  7. Tenergy 05 Hard vs Dignics 80 for forehand

What don't you like about Dignics 80? Have you thought about Dignics 05 or Dignics 09c?
  8. Dignics needs break-in?

How do you like Rozana v.s. Glayzer? Thanks!
  9. We need a new rating system for rubber

All ratings are rubbish. You have to try the rubber yourself and hence the table tennis manufacturers make a lot of money out of EJ'ers. You also have to account for top sheet hardness and thickness. For example, G-1 is know to have a hard top sheet. It is not particularly catapulty. Some...
  10. Dignics on a Budget?! | Glayzer vs Glayzer 09C Review

Yes I agree. My club coach sets up the newbies with Butterfly ALC with two sheets of Tenergy. Assuming the margin is 50%, that's like $180 profit there! I would personally set some newbie up with Tibhar Stratus Power Wood for $45, with a sheet of Xiom Vega Europe or Rakza 7 soft. The margin on...
  11. My Personal Guide to Rubbers on Aliexpress

Not much difference. In my collection I have a mix of H3, H3 neo and H3 Skyline neo. They all need boosting. The labeling between H3 and H3 neo is the SAME. Skyline at least has something different printed on the front to say Skyline in Chinese so you can tell them apart. H3 neo supposedly has...
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

She looks to be moving very slow but she is probably tired from a long multi-ball session. I am always gun-ho the first five minutes of multi-ball then I slowwwwww down considerably. My coach wants me to build up my endurance. I am like, no, I am ok. I don't want to run on the treadmill or...
  13. Should I stick to the ALC blade as a beginner?

I personally think people should use 5-ply wood blade OFF- to start with. But if the originally poster really did start training when he was young and then took a long break, then ALC blade is fine. Just put some slower rubbers on it to begin with.
  14. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Lol, that's why I stick with my hurricane......
  15. Viscaria vs Yinhe V14 Pro

No problem. Thank you! I already put in an order for V14 Pro so it is on its way. If I don't like it, I might get Pro 01 later. Appreciate your input. I will make sure I put slower rubbers on that blade when it arrives!
  16. "wrapping" the ball.

I believe people should hit and brush the ball at the same time. That is called a loop drive.
  17. Does being a coach reduce your competitiveness

Play matches with your students....that will get you moving. But more seriously, are you coaching for income? I used to run unversity table tennis clubs where I coached really really novice players, like univ students who never played any ping pong before going away from home to go to college...
  18. My Personal Guide to Rubbers on Aliexpress

I tried Sanwei Target National. It was good but not grippy enough. I found Sanwei Target provincial, Big Dipper and Mercury II on Aliexpress. The first two feel "hybrid" like but not too much catapult. The only I like is Mercury II which is like $6.8 a sheet including shipping and import tax...
  19. Am in the wrong or is this super annoying to everyone else as well?

Agree. I would have told the guy to shut up...!!!!
  20. Dignics on a Budget?! | Glayzer vs Glayzer 09C Review

My club coach did not want to sell me Rozena. He thinks I should play with Tenergy or Dignics but I refuse to pay that much for rubber. I might try to get a sheet of Rozena somewhere!
