  1. Should I stick to the ALC blade as a beginner?

Just stick with it. Did you train in table tennis when you were little? If so, you can stick with ALC. People who started playing a sport or an instrument when they were little always have some advantage. They just have a better touch or feel for the game even if they come back to the sport later.
  2. "wrapping" the ball.

My vote is for beginner and intermediate players, stick to an angle and not try to wrap the ball. Yes ok to follow through but no need to wrap a ball. Advanced players, they can do whatever pleases them.
  3. all roads lead to Rome...

I think I agree that people should try Hurricane 3 at some point, boosted and see if they like it. I have tried T05 fx, T64 fx and T80 fx. They are ok. Nothing too special. I might be tempted to try Dignics 09c. That rubber makes sense. I am just waiting for my club mate to wear down their...
  4. I need more warmup

I really don't practice anymore because my strokes are fine. It is my footwork and reading of the spin that is bad. And unless I play a match, I don't move. It is toooooooo easy to get into a lazy forehand to forehand exchange. And it is easy just to stand there to do a backhand to backhand...
  5. Should I buy DHS Long 5

Like I said before, my ranking of catapult effect is Tenergy > Revolution > Rasanter and Rakza series > Fastarc series. I used G-1 on my backhand for 4 years. Short game is very good. Push is easy. I can feel the catapult (it is an ESN tensor rubber after all), but very easy to control. The...
  6. Should I buy DHS Long 5

I like that idea. I have been experimenting with carbons lately. I have two Donic Persson Power Play and I like it very much. It is fast enough but has that wonderful wood feeling. Both blades however are stripped of rubber due to me having to transfer them to carbon blades. I need to "restock"...
  7. Do you have an opponent that gives you problems? Let's develop a simple strategy!

Agree with serving short low serve with spin to neutralize his loop. Does he have trouble looping heavy backspin ball or not? As for his serve, you should know his serves well by now. So there are two strategies: 1) is to return his serve onto the table no matter what but if he is going to...
  8. SDC blades as accurate as real thing?

What do you mean the real thing? Are you referring to, say, you want Fan Zhendong super ZLC which is $400 and you want SDC to duplicate it/ I have visited SDC's website. It is very interesting and very informative. But even on the site, he stated clearly, if you want two blades of the same...
  9. Best Flat Hitting Rubber?

two comments: 1) agree. If you want to flat hit better than anything else, you should use short pips. 2) I am not sure it is the rubber.I think it is the blade. I have a Nittaku Acoustic Carbon and it had T05 fx one side and T64 fx the other side. It did not matter which side I used, the ball...
  10. Baby Lin vs Baby Harimoto

In the post game interview, Aruna said he got some tips from other people at the tournament prior to his match with Harimoto. He could go into details. I wonder what tips he got. But of course after winning that match against Harimoto, I think he lost the following match in a separate...
  11. Haifu Seamoon National Black vs Normal Seamoon Yellow Booster???

Here is the link to part 1. You can find part 2. In summary, he liked Falco Tempo Long and Seamoon National Yellow. I think Seamoon National Yellow is ok. And he does NOT like Seamoon National Black. I have used Falco Tempo Long and Seamoon National yellow; recently I have been using Seamoon...
  12. Life, Existence, and the Meaning of Long Pips - The Opus Maximus of James Z

I second that. May the best player win.
  13. 6 Myths of Table Tennis

I think it is better to be young to be a "hands on" coach because it is physically taxing. If you were the head coach of the national team in China, you could delegate, I ma pretty sure, the physically taxing stuff.
  14. 6 Myths of Table Tennis

I agree with you. Outside of being a pro, everyone should only play table tennis for fun. I hate going to the gym. I don't see how running on a treadmill or pumping some weight is fun. It is sooooo boring. Give me a ball and I will have fun with it. Lacrosse, basketball, volleyball or just...
  15. Need advice for buying my second bat.

Same as Lazer, I am curious about your impression of Evoluation series v.s. Aurus Prime and Select as well! Please let us know when you have time.
  16. Xiom Vega Korea Review

Will do. I have spent quite a bit of time with Xiom Vega Europe. I have only spent little bit of time on Vega X. So I might not get Vega Pro v.s. Vega Korea for a few months.
  17. Why doesn't TT11 H3 have hardness options?

Agree. Thank you for finding out. I think they have 39 degree in stock. TT11 have been out of stock on DHS Skyline Neo 3 black (2.2mm) max sponge for a while!
  18. Should I buy DHS Long 5

Rakza 7 2.0mm is a good all around rubber. You cannot go wrong with that.
  19. Xiom Vega Korea Review

Lol, now I have to get either Xiom Pro or Xiom Korea to try it out!
  20. 6 Myths of Table Tennis

Yes agree. And food in Taiwan is cheap and that's who some people can make low salary and still survive. I see coaches bending down to feed top spin multi-balls to their students. That must be very very taxing on their bodies! :)
