Am I the only one who finds G09c fast and hard?
Coming from other "hybrids" (Rakza Z, H 8-80, Joola Tango PS...) and Fastarcs (all of them...) the G09c too me feels very hard and also quite fast. Long arc. But I guess it depends on what you are used to and how you hit the ball.
My experience is that the topsheet, hybrid or not, always lasts longer than the sponge when it comes to modern rubbers (with built in speed-glue effect).
The DHS H301 feels mostly like a slightly slower Viscaria. It is flexier though so some really hard hits/loops makes it feel a bit faster. But over all, a slightly slower blade with the simlilar feeling.
Hear hear. The "women and children only"-move from Stiga is weird. I bet they are going to start producing bigger handles again but that does not help us right now.
The sad thing is that the Stiga handles have gotten smaller over the years and they even stopped producing the large flared one. Ten years ago they had a conical, Champ, that worked really well.
Well, you can always get used to a blades playing characteristics but if you don't like grip tape you have no way of fixing a small handle. Unless you are a master carpenter. Or can afford one.
My hands are about the same size (length) and I do have a problem with finding handles that does not feel to small. Most are to thin and almost all are too short. Seems like a trend to stop producing the relatively bigger handles as well.
Ok. It was just an older version of the "butterfly rubber matrix". A bit different from the latest. Alla the Tenergies have the same spin as the corresponding FX-versions for instance. And Tackiness are on the same spin level as Tenergies. There are several versions, just google. Obviously more...
Don't know about Nittaku H3 but aren't the ESN options typically heavier than the Hurricanes?
Another option for you might be Hurricane 8-80. It is somewhat similar to Rakza Z. Different feel but easy transition. The red 8-80:s seems to be out of stock in most shops though....
Joola Tango PS = ESN-bouncy sponge with chinese tacky topsheet.
Rakza Z = sponge halfway between modern bouncy and chinese hard, topsheet normal european topsheet with some added tackiness.
The result is similar but approach to hybridness different.
I've only seriously tried Rozena on forehand where I'm used to Tenergies (and their ESN-counterparts) or tacky hybrids.
Since the Rozena topsheet has much less grip than those I had a hard time looping/driving. The arc is very long. Closing the racquet just a little too much sends a rocket into...
The Matrix is wrong. Rozena is fast but it is not a spinny rubber. As Lazer says above, noooo way it as spinny as T05fx. No matter how you hit, it is going to be less spinny.
Well, its just the same manufacturer. They don't have to play similar at all.
I did like the Mantras. The Mantra M was a very good Tenergy 05-clone. Until the sponge died....
Some months in, how is the durability of the Z2?
The original Stiga Mantra came from the same factory and were very good but only for a few weeks. Now there are new Mantras and this rubber. The Z2 have been getting raving reviews. Still?
