  1. Russian Players should not be on tour during the War.

We are going off topic, if you have data that says he supports the war, then feel free to move this to the politics thread. He has accepted playing and competing under a flag that is not his original nationality. That is enough of an insult to bear IMHO. This discussion on this thread is closed.
  2. Harimoto: "It's presumptuous to call it a rivalry." (#1135)

In an era when review is possible, such things should be welcomed. The original call was not in line with VAR usage. It did not affect the result. Why keep it?
  3. Russian Players should not be on tour during the War.

Things change all the time especially when something goes on longer than expected and they are not playing under the Russian flag, which is what some people find most important. Do you think it is important that someone like Sidorenko be unable to play because of government actions he has no...
  4. Harimoto: "It's presumptuous to call it a rivalry." (#1135)

That's a typical zeio assessment. There were too many civil wars to make that the primary conclusion. That Sato should beat Wang Manyu and call that a disappointment because she lost to Kuai Man is also weird. It is more reasonable to say that Odo was a disappointment. Hayata losing to Miwa...
  5. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

Felix vs Truls Winner: Everyone (okay, Truls) Sun vs Miwa Winner: Miwa (Yeah, too much alcohol)
  6. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

I dont entirely agree but I understand the main point and think it is an important perspective.
  7. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

Every player on earth has blown a 10-6 lead. No exceptions. Zhang Jike blew a 10-4 game 7 lead against Yan An. And in addition to Vlad's power overwhelming Harimoto's defenses, he got more than his fair share of breaks. Yes Harimoto struggles more when playing players who outperform their...
  8. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

I guess we will see about Harimoto when that rematch comes. Sidorenko has been getting more than his fair share of breaks - will see if this continues.
  9. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

He was outplayed in the Sidorenko match and got some unlucky breaks. That is not incompleteness.
  10. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

Obviously the guy was derailed by the war. But it is obvious watching him in Fench league (and arguably rven when he won University games) that he is a top 20 player and on par with Gauzy at least, where exactly he ends up is of course a matter of improvement and matchups. The way he...
  11. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

Felix Sora winner os the favorite but I give Truls a better chance of beating those guys than Sidorenko because diaryption is important against those guys. Sora is borderline unbeatable if you cannot return his serves but I think Felix has the edge there.
  12. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

While Vlad has clearly leveled up, a reminder from one of their recent meetings that he is exactly rhe kind of player that Truls can lock up if Truls is in form:
  13. Ma Long @WTTC2026: Harimoto Tomokazu is the Best Non-CNT Player.

Even with his occasional struggles, I would add LYJ to that list as well. That said, the Tiebans know table tennis and we don't and it seems Ma Long is on their side so...
  14. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

They did *much* more than that as juniors. And they have played in Champions league this year.
  15. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

Adam is very funny - he makes it sound like Shinozuka taking out Hugo was a bigger deal that Vlad taking out Harimoto.
  16. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

Is there anyone bashing the ball as hard as Vlad the Sid on tour?
  17. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

Lost my transmission, not sure how the score got to 3-3 so fast lol...
  18. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

I completely forgot this was a best of 7.
  19. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

Looks like high arcing topspin is working....
  20. United States Smash 2026, Los Angeles, 6/26-7/5

I skipped the Sun Yingsha - Chen Xingtong match for the most part - I like the ladies but I decided I would watch it if and after CXT won a game and that didn't happen.
