Well i guess his record is now blemishes with his loss to Yousef. And of course, Sora's victories over Xiang Peng etc. don't give him any extra credit. Tieba uses are tough graders. But of course as always, Uda and Sora are young and promising...

Doesn't Kihara use pips as well?
  4. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

Look at what happened in Germany at the discretion of Roaskopf in picking Boll over Franziska. These things are not about China per se. It is about trying to understand what drives a decision. It can be wrong or right but we adapt to the information we are given. You can make ot sound like...

Kihara is still working out something. I think her overall play even in doubles reflects this.
  7. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

Pride is an important motivation. You think Wang Manyu will lose to Kuai Man from 2-0 up but beat Harimoto from 0-2 down because Kuai Man is better than Harimoto?
  8. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

The conversation being had was transparent for everyone to see. I am not sure whether you can read or not. I was clearly speculating before being informed that a selection trial took place and the players selected were winners. That top 10 players like Kuai Man and Xiang Peng won't play...

Li Hechen is the real deal, he entered the Matrix with Sora on so many points it was spellbinding to see them playing in bullet time. With a better draw he could definitely have gone further. Looking forward to his future, i can see why there is a lot of confidence about the C team prospects...

We already saw Hari play Hugo and we all saw how that went.... But to address your point, usually when a better player is playing another player who he thinks his balls bother or who he can outrally, he takes the shots that minimize his risk of losing the point and expects that his consistency...

Oh I saw that coming a mile away. I still remember when Ito beat Zhu Yuling in an event where the Chinese ambassador at the country's embassy was supposed to present. That killed that scenario.

It's one of the reasons why the easiest way you can tell if someone can spin the ball heavy is by looking at their service action. Very few players learn to get good spin on serves and then throw all that away when looping. Though there are some who manage to get good spin with fast loop...

Yeah the absence of world ranking restrictions with the lead up to the Olympics was the biggest thing.

Karlsson takes out both Alamianz in a row. Still waiting on the Sora-Hechen match. Chitale reminds us that pips are not magic.
  19. The Surest Way to Get Rid of Illegal Serve Complaints

2014 was the time when the balls were really bad though. I am sure they can make better balls now if they really want to. Won't solve the problem with the experience playing but it will be better durability for sure.

@PenHoldSandro , I think i told the story of when I was trying to learn to loop better on my forehand and my coach told me to limit the upper arm movement (which often involves making the stroke feel smaller and bending the elbow a bit more) and I didn't do it. It's one of my current regrets...
