  1. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

The point about comparing the potential of a 17 year old to the potential of a 23 year old is too obvious to state and the point about 23 being well past zeio's achieve-or-retire age is well stated as well. Unfortunately, winning arguments is more fun than dispassionately presenting facts.
  2. JTTA: Selection System to be Revamped for Paris 2024

It feels to me like too much competition and should ideally be replaced by internal training. But that said, no one knows how to really do internal training other than the CNT.
  3. Skyline 2 vs Skyline 3

Not a penholder, two winged shakehand looper. I coincidentally just tried my first sheet of blue sponge DHS rubber for Hurricane 3 and all I can say is wow, what a livelier sponge topsheet combination. I am going to start with two sheets of Skyline 3 then I might end up where you are since...
  4. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

Okay. Your stance is irrelevant to whether Gauzy or Alexis should be selected on the basis of who is a better medal hope for France in singles.
  5. Skyline 2 vs Skyline 3

I am using Skyline 2 unboosted right now and for pure spin, I prefer it to Hurricane 3. Well the spin is one thing, but the pushes and the control on touch shots and pushes is amazing. Does anyone know how Skyline 3 compares? I am thinking a bit about looking for something faster for...
  6. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

Not sure how the goalposts are being moved, the debate is Gauzy vs Alexis for a singles, there is no debate over Felix. Since nothing in your argument speaks yo that, not worth responding beyond what I have already written.
  7. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

Sidespin from Felix. It is how he keeps the ball low sometimes and it is hard to counter, especially from his backhand.
  8. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

Thanks for answering my question, though as we all know, your position ia not driven by his performance vs Gauzy but by purported negative influence on Felix. To me there is no doubt he should be playing over Gauzy.
  9. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

Obviously a WTTC bronze match is bigger, but I take this match. Amazing given the level the opponent was presenting. Obviously there was a gift from Alexis, but Liang made more than his fair share of amazing shots to save this especially at the 9-9 point.
  10. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

Alexis has a major advantage here, Liang doesn't look right. I think Coach Molin must have told him yo juat continue making Liang move and that he should not lose his patience that opportunities will come. If Liang wins this, it will be one of the biggest wins of his career from a mental...
  11. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

Well we had high hopes for Harimoto ans Lin Yun Ju... see how that turned out...
  12. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

Is it just my perception or has the way Ma Lin interacts with his players changed? It is almost as if he is asking more questions rather than giving instructions? Note that I do not speak a word of Chinese so I am just making up stories in my head about what is happening based on what I see...
  13. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

Miu Hirano, the score is now 0-2. When are you going to activate your Zhang Jike mode?
  14. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

    Tell that to zeio lol.
  15. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

Hari-boy. Does what he does best, beat a close to the table Asian player. Revenge is sweet I guess...
  16. Why do Zhang Jikes Movements Look so clean?

Depends in what you modeled, Zhang Jike uses his upper arm out of sync with the body more than most modern forehands. With spin on the celiuloid ball, it was easier to get away with that, but with the plastic ball power requirements, it just placed much more pressure on technique.

Blast from the very ancient past.
  18. 2024 WTT Contender Mendoza, Argentina 5/27-6/2

I believe it hit the edge, but I am older than CCY.
  19. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

They just have to file the right paperwork, I am sure they have enough room to manage such stuff if they really care.
  20. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Deadly third ball attacks are really a function of serve and serve return and how they set up the 3rd and 4th ball. No one has deadly third ball attacks against good returns. That said, the main thing you pointed out is that the experience and ability gap between you and DerEchte fueled...
